  2. Although I detest hot spotting Trout with a passion, I think it would be great to do this with these fish. I would be willing to Google map spots with populations especially in moving waters. We also need to figure out what they like in nymphs specially in no bait areas. I intend to fertilize my garden this spring.
  3. Sweet Tweet. We need to start targeting these ourselves. Plan to see if I can knock a few out this year population this year.
  4. Twas a charmed time. Like the Joni Mitchell song from the 1960s,song says, "You don't know what you've got till it's gone.
  5. What do you mean, been waiting for you at our regular meeting spot for an hour. :-)
  6. It is also a great time of year to do equipment care. Check your lines for cracks and other damage. I like to wash my fly lines in a sink full of warm water and mild dish detergent. Strip the line into the water and wipe the lines with a soft terry wash cloth. Surprising how much dirt you pick up off the surface especially in city rivers and a lot of lakes. I sometime do a quick clean like this a couple times a year depending where I fish. A quick coat of quality line dressing will make those fly line tips that start sinking pop up and float like new. My favorite line dressing is Otter Butter that I will even use often. This kind of care will extend the life of your line, also check you manufacturer for tips for your particular line.

  7. Fished it with a buddy last year, found no rising fish bug hatches or much in insect life under stones.

  12. If you can send back for warranty, if not just as Murray said hit it with nail polish or epoxy and fish it.
  13. One of my earliest memories was my Dad taking me fishing on rivers like the Humber, Niagara, Restigouche among others for salmon. It was tiny fish cabins with pot bellied wood stoves crowded with old guys, Bamboo fly rods everywhere and silk lines drying in the rafters. Whiskery, damp wool, cigar smoke and laughter was a heady experience for a young kid taking it all in.
  14. Gramps and Dad tied in hand, Dad switched over to a vice in the late 50's. Learned to tie in hand but switched ot a vice fairly quickly, as I tied for a lot of shops in BC in my younger days.
