I'm born and raised Calgary, I love the city but it isn't the one I grew up in. Crackheads, Traffic & Yuppies seem to make up the downtown core now. Lethbridge is sounding pretty damn nice these days... but I can't stand the wind.

If you have all the services going to your home anyways, (cable, internet, phone) bundle them up. I think you save a couple bucks but the best thing is having only one bill to pay.

I went to Mexico. Got stupid drunk the whole time, pretty much every where we went and never had an issue. I'm not recommending that approach but nothing happened to me. I minded my own business and used the same judgment that I use here in Calgary. I wouldn't put myself in the easy target category. I found Mexican people in general to be very out going, nice and helpful. Most of these people depend on the tourism in their area (in the resort areas) for their livelihood either directly or indirectly, it's like O&G in Calgary. Although I'm sure it exists I had little to no sense of a "shady" element any where I went. I used the same street smarts I use to get by in everyday life. Be it at the market or beach in the day, off-resort restaurants for dinner or a strip club at some ungodly hour (bachelor party). In fact the "shadiest" thing I encountered was returning to a bar we had visited on a pub crawl to find that they now had metal detector you had to pass through to get in. I don't get out like that much in Calgary anymore but I know I've seen the same thing here. I think some of the concerns you raise (women luring, police killing people) are extremely rare and if they're going to happen, there ain't that much you can do about. Regardless of what country of the world you're in. Just my two cents.

My understanding of US Geography is crap but if you're a reasonable distance from Eastern Utah I hear the Green River tailwater is a pretty sick fishery. You might want to give a couple of the shops (or the shop) in the area a call, also check out Arizona's fishing regulations, I think there are some pretty unique trout fisheries there.

Good point Don, didn't Ralph and his crew do a royalty review not that long ago? I recall they found the system to be working sufficiently... how the tune changes!

Archer was born three weeks ago Friday... congrats to all the new parents.

I used to fish in Redwood a few years ago, if the log jams are still around the water treatment plant/tennis courts they can offer up some brookies. I'm pretty sure there are a couple of other spots in that area, great place to live!
