  1. SA titan textured line is good as well. Easy to cast and shoots well. Used Rio streamertip ( clear 10 ft tip) and it started falling apart. After 2 seasons of about 50+ outings I could pull it apart without much force. From now on I avoid streamer lines with mono core.
  2. Great tip with post it notes. Always having issues with fine materials on laminate desktop.
  3. Oldman went from 280 to close to 500 in 6 hours at the confluence.
  4. Scuds in smaller sizes. Don't set the hook hard as their mouth is soft and rips easy on a hard hook set. Cast beside vegetation or structure. If you hook one there is likely to be another couple hundred in that area, they like to school up.
  5. Made a little mistake fee is 600, heritage point is 900. Boat usage is 2 max for clubhouse boats. No idea if you can bring a tube. And if you do you have to go to reception then round the block to get to boat ramp. I don't know what to say, unless you live on the lake it is not worth it from fishing point of view. If you try to fish from shore anywhere but clubhouse dock, you'll get chased away. Clubhouse has a nice beach and water park for kids. Once you step beyond the safety rope it's 2-3 feet of sticky mud. I might sound a bit negative but that's how I see it at Auburn bay. Luckily bow river is nearby
  6. Tiny lots, some are decent but $$$$$$$, very limited access to lake. Boat use is 2 hr maximum. It does have decent rainbow trout, getting to them is a different story. For $900 a year to have lake access I'd rather spend it on gas to foothills.
  7. Toyo open country at. Great tire so far, run them on Nissan pathfinder with occasional tow. Previously had Bridgestone that barely made it past 2014 km, toyos are still running strong 4th season and close to 40000 km. For small tires it's hard to beat deals from wall mart or ct
  8. Out fished a guy with 4000 flies on him with my Vladimir worm. Tie them before you plan to fish. Latex falls apart after some time.

    3Wt Reel?

Not for the sake of 14" fish running away, but for a bit of padding to put the fly line on, that is all.
  10. Most people seem to favor fishing right below glenmore dam, some chuck flies right into concrete pool. Hope no one ends up falling in there. Calgary zoo area has some pike as well

    3Wt Reel?

For a reel that is designated for certain line youd expect it to fit. To me that is a legit concern. Will anyone get spooled with a 3wt reel i dont know....do you need a $600 dolar reel to cast 20ft for 12" fish to be legit?

    3Wt Reel?

Galvan brookie is a real nice reel, at a normal price. Still regret not ordering one, insted i went with fwx nautilus 1/3, which is nice but can't hold a full 3wt line(had to chop off about 20ft from airlfo superdry elite and its still snug)with about 30yds of backing. Had to disassemble my reel clean it from old grease and put on better quality lubricant to get a smooth enough drag for 7x-8x tippet.
  13. Just look ahead and slow down when you're passing by one, its free! Cheap radar is worthless. There is also a website that lists all camera locations for a given day.
  14. I'd make some soup/stew out of that. Without a profesional smokehouse it's a waste of time and good meat. Try some basic dry rub, salt/pepper/garlic leave it overnight. Give it a rinse under cold water and use some towel paper to pat it dry then put it into bbq for a smoke session 4-6 hours of good cold(it's not actualy cold, more like warm) smoke. Then make some stew

  16. I'm no psychologist, but i had similar issues as a teen. Counseling is probably the worst thing you can do for that kid, confinding your feelings and emotions to a stranger does not work that well, and can backfire. What he needs is someone to look up to, someone who will comfort him with thrust, set him examples, give him responsibilities where he can acknowledge the impact he has on people around him and get positive reaction. Never talk to him in a manner where he might feel guilty, you have to humble him by example, until he gets it and puts 2 and 2 together. Once you gain kids thrust you will not believe how they can change. This takes a lot of honest effort, love and dedication. Money does not cure these kind of problems(therapist...). before you try counseling with him, i'd say his parents need it more than he does, after all they got him to the point where he is now. All thismkid needs is some positive attention and good examples. I was lucky that i had someone who devoted their time for me, a newfie irishman, ww2 veteran and a freaking superhero in my mind. Despite having two parents, this person really was the one who set me straigth. When i see a "lost" kid like that it sets me off, it's the parents that are root of his problems, mother is just as guilty as the father, they are both "c-words" until they realise what they've done through their actions, blame/guilt game has led to where they are now. Man, i just got upset to the point of crying it out, its freakin 7am. Good luck and be strong! You just might end up as a superhero in someones eyes!
  17. Cold smoked bacon(uncooked) Varieties of cheese Tomato White bread Good vino Dried food, no thank you
  18. If i remember correctly fish tales has a few z-axis blanks.
  19. Open up your loops and slow things down, keep your rod tip high during forward back cast. Could you tell us what you're currently using for line and what type/length of sinktips? I'm no pro at this but more info on your gear would be helpful to solve your dilema. Couple of seasons ago i was trying to cast a giant 12ft type6 leader with a medium action 5wt waist deep in water. After a good whipping and a lot of cussing i gave up. Learned lots since then
  20. For regular dry fly line, versileaders are your best bet, poly leaders have a more pronounced taper and are better suited for spey and thicker line.
  21. Toyo "open country" are decent tires. Had mine on for 3 years now and at 60000km they still got lots of meat left, a little louder than a regular highway tire but very durable.
  22. Thanks for quick response guys! Seems i'll go with chest waders for now(since winter is coming), and get pants later in the spring(or wader socks).
  23. I worn out my old waders WJ V2. got a big hole in one of neoprene boots and ankle seams are bust. I always wanted to try waist high waders but would like to hear what you guys/gals have to say about this. I'm looking at LL Bean and redington sonic, have not decided yet which ones to go with. Any opinions on pros and cons of waist vs chest waders?
