  1. Seriously... No ginch wet wading is the only way to go! Keeps the "wolf bite" at bay for days!
  2. Agreed... I thought Korker Chromes were great. For about two months. I left a sole in the mud some where. Then they left me stranded on the Madison this spring after the cable busted. Simms Guide Boots for me now. Best gear decision ever.
  3. Watched three of them feed on a dead coyote in front of my house this spring. Bald Eagles that also land were diminutive in comparison.
  4. I did specify "Alot of this conversation" not just your input. The big question is always where do you draw the line and what is enforcable? Fly fish only? How about Spey cast only? Barbless hooks are already nearly impossible to enforce. Maybe we should add a maximum line strength? No indicators? Dry fly only? No Jets? No more then one drift boat per section per hour? I have alot of ideas that would make my fishing experiance more enjoyable but do they really "protect the resource" or serve the greater good? I doubt it.
  5. If you are so worried about the resource cut the hook off your fly. Now thats a purist. Alot of this conversation smells like elitism.
  6. Go back a page or two and read wingshooters post. They have escaped from a pond into the Medicine River.
  7. It's called Rate of Return! Yes that is what "Evil Big Oil" requires. You would be surprised how thin the margin actually is. Don't fool yourself we do compete with the world. While everyone is all up in arms over this Enbridge line a gas line is quietly being proposed for a LNG port in Kitimat. Where is the OutRage against it?
  8. If big oil thought they could make a buck on building a refinery in Alberta it would be happen. Maybe the government (aka the tax payers) should subsidize a refinery project in Alberta. The fact of the matter is the same people who hate any new development would also hate the refinery. Not to mention Newfie labour isn't as cheap as it used to be.
  9. I have to admit that dirty lil brookies do make for some great fish'n in creeks that have never held a cuttie or I doubt have ever held a bull. The Browns like eating them as much as I do.
  10. I had a crappy pair of those White River Boots given to me. They lasted a half a season.... so I took them back. (1yr warranty) The next pair again lasted less then a season then I took them back. I am now on my third pair of boots and this pair only lasted two months. I think I will take them back again. You might as well make them pay for making such a terrible, crappy, cheap product.
  11. P.S. Please ask your wives to stop peeing in the toilet. The hormones are messing up the Long Nosed Dace downstream of Calgary. Dam oilsands... I mean Calgary
  12. Damn tarsands....? Do some research. Ever heard of Uranium city. The north shore of the lake has been mined for uranium for a very long time. Blame the oil sands.... They have broad shoulders. Mike from Canmore
  13. Thats hilarious... I know exactly who you ran into on the Red Deer and told you to use Frogs Hair (he also sells Frog Hair).... I like it but it is expensive. I like Rio just as well. Those are Big Browns! Seriously I have straightened hooks more then once. What ever knot you tie or line you use 8lbs of brown trout on a dry fly can give you trouble!
  14. Don't get to crazy.... Try a Parachute Adams... 14... 16.... 18...
  15. Its a one day float for sure unless you really doddle. Im local and its been fairly slow this year.... A few giant browns yield. Its all timing on the Red Deer. I wish we could bonk all the Walleyes.
  16. Agreed not to mention the Wigwam has a serious Grizzly population. Take your kid to the fish pond.
  17. I just bought a two man. Check out www.northforkoutdoors.com I bought an Avenger and had it shipped up to Missoula for a fishing trip. Friend bought one as well. I can't say enough good things about it. SS
