  1. Sigvaris has a great compression sock for fishing and hunting. It is made with Marino wool and is available in 2 thicknesses. You need to be measured to be sure of a good fit, if they don’t measure calf circumference, ankle circumference , lower leg length and shoe size they are not truly medical grade compression socks. Also with a prescription you may have coverage under your medical insurance plan. The socks should roughly cost $125 per pair Wayne
  2. I'm looking to replace the line on my 9' 5wt x-axis and a shop recommended going with a 6wt Wf hardy horizon line. Does anyone have any experience with this line? Personally I've never heard of it but he swears by it. I'm replacing the current SA GPX 5wt Wf Thanks Wayne
  3. I have one.

  4. If you go the metatarsal pad route use lipstick to mark your metatarsal heads and then Stand on your insole. place the pad behind your marks. If you are worried about it peeling off put the left one one the underside of the right Insole and right one one the underside of the other one. wayne
  5. That's the cheapest I've bought diesel for many years! Anyone know if prices will remain low? Wayne
  6. If your property drifts in I would recommend getting a 2 stage blower, if not a single stage thrower should be fine.
  7. I had cell service in the Dutch creek campground every morning. I'm on bell. Wayne
  8. My wife and kids purchased me and a buddy a guided float through country pleasures. We are both from lethbridge so our normal rivers are the crow, waterton, castle, **.****'* , and everything just north of the pass. We are both experienced flyfishers but not what I would consider experts! We are also Bow River virgins. We are willing to fish nymphs or streamers if needed but would much rather fish drys. I am looking for some info to help us make the most of our trip. 1) when would you consider the best dates of the summer for us to schedule our trip? 2) I have 9' z's in 4-6 should I be trying to borrow a 7 or a longer rod for the trip? 3) any info on which guide I should request? 4) there site doesn't mention if they supply flies, should I take my own? Or am I expected to buy what ever they suggest? 5) if given the option should I request what stretch to fish? If you can answer any or all of my questions or have any other great advice that would be great. Thanks wayne
  9. I got the traxxis 55 for my scadden, no one ever complained they had too much power. Buy the biggest 12 volt motor with maximizer that you are willing to spend. The extra power doesn't give you much more speed but it will make a huge difference when your heading into the wind/ whitecaps! Wayne
  10. Thanks for all the input, I ended up purchasing the nikon AW120. Wayne
  11. I am looking for some input based on personal experience to help me pick my new camera. my previous one was the pentax optio w60 which is no longer working! I have narrowed the search down to either the Olympus TG-2, Nikon AW120 or the Panasonic lumix DMC-TS5 I have also considered the gopro hero 3+ black but it is big step up in price and I am not sure how much video I would do, it would mostly be for stills. The camera will be used for fishing, camping and vacations. so something with good all around pic quality would be great. I am interested in hearing pros and cons about any of the cameras I have listed. thanks Wayne
  12. I am due to get a new phone and am undecided on which phone to get. I am not looking for someone to tell me which one is the best, I know they are both great phones. Is what I am looking for is someone who has had a iphone and went to a android, Or the other way around. Are you happy with your choice? Are you going to switch back? Any pros or cons. Any info based on personal experiences are welcome Thanks wayne
  13. Watermasters are nice well built boats but I prefer the scaddens due to the rockered hull, way more maneuverable and agile. The watermasters are very stable but not as responsive.
  14. The reinforcement plastic bars popped out of the top of the seat, not a big deal as I have a industrial sewing machine at work so I was able to fix it. So now I have a spare seat.
  15. It sounds like I am the only one with a good experience! I ordered my assault, upgraded oars, Scotty anchor mount, depth charge anchor and received my complete shipment within 3 weeks. I did have a problem with the upgraded seat that I received with the boat but when I mentioned this at the Calgary expo I was told they were aware of the issue with the eva seat and took my contact info and sent me out a replacement seat at no cost to me.
