  1. I saw that a week or so ago. Really could use a vacation in Kamchatka.
  2. It was a shaky start, but she turned out to be a great olympics for Canada.
  3. That was just a good old fashioned amazing game of hockey. I enjoyed every minute of it.
  4. This is an intense game. *hit just got real.
  5. 2-0!!! That penalty kill was absolutely solid.
  6. That you do. I was wondering if anyone would notice. That was an absolutely beautiful brown, the camera didn't even do the colours justice. The red spots were so bright on it it was insane.
  7. You could easily photoshop the leader out of that picture.
  8. This is true, but I pretty much tend to think of them as natural here considering how currently established they are. I was thinking more extravagant species like tiger trout, goldens, aurora, etc. when I was saying that I didn't think we necessarily needed more exotics. My post also was meant to suggest less rainbow stocking and diversity in stocking. One species I mentioned happened to be cutthroats. I would love to see the increased stocking of native species. This issue also wasn't the crux of my post.
  9. Like others I have the same reservations about fee increases without the direct obligation that the increased revenue leads to noticeable improvement of our fisheries. One of the big things I would like to see, in terms of stocking, is just more variety--not exotics. I would like to see more lakes stocked with browns and cutthroats specifically. But again, this probably isn't going to solve any of the province's real problems. There's is a huge deficiency in enforcement funding that I think we all have noticed. F&W is greatly aided by the report a poacher line and citizen involvement because of the massive area each office is forced to enforce. There are tons of issues facing this province and I fear that, as usual, costs will go up and service to the industry and the people involved will go down.
  10. That would be, dare I say it? Legendary.
  11. I really hope a legitimate party and a valid alternative come out of the renewed Alberta Party. I understand why everyone's sceptical and cynical about it, I myself remain reserved, but something has got to change.
  12. I've never once voted Conservative.
  13. Fisheries is just one example of how the entire political structure of this province is ****ed.
  14. Thanks for posting that I really enjoyed it. Fishing is something that is particularly prone to the struggle between the uncompromising romantic and the secure realist.
  15. A still life (plural still lifes[1]) is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects which may be either natural (food, flowers, plants, rocks, or shells) or man-made (drinking glasses, books, vases, jewelry, coins, pipes, and so on) in an artificial setting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Still_life
  16. In the hands of someone experienced who knows what they're doing and exercises extreme care I am sure the practice is fine. However, I would hate to see this becoming common use for obvious reasons. At the very least the fish will have lost all the energy necessary to collect whatever food was pumped. Personally, I'll stick to eyeing the water and flipping over the odd rock or two.
  17. But didn't you just take this opportunity to get atop another moral soapbox?
  18. Bummer. I really gotta target some big bullies this summer. Last summer my bull trout fishing was regulated to smaller one's on little creeks which was awesome, but I wouldn't mind hooking into a couple beasts this season. Here's a few more randoms:
  19. That bully looks like a friggin shark.
  20. The feather work on that hawk is intense!
  21. I thought we were going to be talking about ZZ Top.
  22. Glad to hear you're doing alright. I don't think anyone can blame you for going out there the way you did, it's just shitty that people like that have no sense of honour, respect, or common decency.
