  1. I just want to be able to do donuts in the middle of a stream as easily as someone in Asia, Europe, or the Middle East. What happened to freedom?
  2. You think with all of our open space that our market would get some of these sweet 4x4s.
  3. Awesome pics! Some bigguns for sure. Thanks for posting!
  4. I wish to start a half decent career so that I didn't just waste 4 years getting a degree only to work manual labour anyway.
  5. Blast! Kudos to you for all the hard work and Jack for donating the rod. Also a pat on the back to everyone that donated.
  6. I found Sharkwater to be absolutely devastating. STACKS: Sharkwater is pretty widely available on DVD. Any rental place should have a copy. I shall watch this film sometime in the near future.
  7. My fishing rig went from a 2000 Hyundai Accent, to a 1999 Saturn SC1, and now I have something far more suited to my lifestyle in a 2006 Ford Escape. I get a decent fuel economy with it (not amazing) and it is still small enough to be fun and easy to drive in the city. The 4WD has also performed well enough for me so far, though I don't do any extreme four by fouring. Like a few others have suggested, my ultimate fishing vehicle to get into all those hard to get places would probably be one of the older Japanese diesels.
  8. Nice. Part of that video is also mixed differently and is in the current Catch mag.
  9. Personally, from what I've read and seen Loop was really onto something with the design of their AEG rods and I really wish I could get a hold of one. I really like the idea of a backpackable rod made to be incredibly durable and also cast well. I think the idea of a cork composite grip, or something similar, too increase grip and durability when fishing in less than ideal situations is a great idea. I also like the idea of the two coated stripping guides. I think the biggest thing though, is making something like this affordable and durable. It should be a person's battle axe. Cut costs by doing things like making the blank just a flat black, green, or even merlot. Cut down on fancier adornments and use more durable heavy duty reel seats, locks, etc. that also look good with an overall stripped down design. I imagine something like this mostly coming in the 5-10 weight range, but a smaller rod would be nice too. I imagine the rod also being a bit on the stiffer side, but still being able to throw dries fairly well and with a relaxed medium fast action. I want a rod in the $300-ish price range that could be an absolute work horse. I want to fish it if it's snowing or raining or scorching out and not have to worry about a damn thing. I want a rod that could be left out in the sun on the dashboard in case I happen to drive past some water. I would like to see someone make a tank that is actually a good rod and fun to cast.
  10. I hate how animals always end up paying the price for human stupidity.
  11. I might have to count out my pennies as the odds are looking pretty nice on this one, haha.
  12. Those are definitely some mad skills for sure.
  13. Wow, you're really kicking it up a notch and doing more than your part for this cause. Good on you man.
  14. I agree that the behavior of the drivers seems a little weird. Regardless of that fact, though, that is an awesome/lucky coyote.
  15. I admire your self control on not just dusting the guy. What a dweeb.
  16. Haha, ewww.
  17. Here's a wedding cake my buddy's girlfriend made. I myself am not too big on cake. I prefer pie.
  18. My thoughts were not banning drive thru's or adding deposits. My thoughts were that better packaging and materials are necessary. You're not going to stop people from littering, but you could at least make what they might litter out of recyclable materials and make it in a way that is wholly biodegradable. Small change is better than no change. Your opinion seems to be that if you aren't going to win the world series you shouldn't play ball and that type of outlook is absolutely useless and unproductive on any level.
  19. Ultimately, the careless individual is to blame for their actions, but until we enact my dream law and start killing stupid people the easiest thing to do is prevent them from doing something stupid rather than allow them to do so.
  20. Money is really tight for me, but that rod is a nice incentive and my great grandfather also died of prostate cancer. He was a fisherman as well. I think I'll be shooting you a donation in the next day or two.
  21. I agree that "to go cups" are becoming a huge problem and around here especially from Tim Horton's. I'm not sure if a deposit is really the way to go, however, as I know tons of people who are already too lazy to recycle cans, never mind adding another factor. I think the first step is really to enforce that these companies use containers that are made from recycled materials and that are also completely biodegradable. This doesn't really solve the problem of litter, but I'd rather see 20 cups in the ditch that I know won't be harmful and will completely break down than 10 of the current ones. Using recycled materials also removes or limits the tremendous demand on some resources that these companies require.
  22. Jeeze. I gotta get out somewhere soon. I'm already starting to withdrawal.
  23. Well aren't you just sweet as sugar.
