Missin I wanted to throw in my two bits. I applaud you for your efforts, and your Idea for a fishing tourney is a great one. I will gladly volunteer my time if needed. A couple of points I would like to make with respect to the organization of an event such as this, to ensure everything comes together. 1. This need not be a “long dong” contest (undoubtedly some will make it into such) 2. The idea of drawing names out of a hat to make up the teams is a good one (that way it doesn’t become a stacked deck). Yes, not everyone gets along, but it I don’t think the intent is to have everyone holding hands while fishing 3. I think Smitty suggested it, but this can’t be an alcohol endorsed event. The liability that this invokes on the organizers part would be huge. Not to mention public safety. I am sure the Stream watch does not need to take on such risks. I also question the maturity of those who think it should be an event where drinking is supported. 4. I think I had said this before we are all winners at FFC. So let’s leave it at that. Whereas, everyone donate a few bucks and we all have a good day on the bow. Let’s have a BBQ at the end and share our experiences. Anywho, those are my thoughts and my offer to volunteer will remain standing

You two need a chill pill….You are making assumptions…and you know what assumptions do…You see a someone with down syndrome… I see some with down syndrome in a superman suit…That make him a hero…a martyr in the eyes of diversity..to overcome all obstacles… So to you sirs, I say blow it out your keesters and don’t bother me with such juvenile behaviors!

And here is why. [Rant] I was traveling on the Deefoot one afternoon. Well I could better say I was stopped on the Deerfoot one afternoon. Only to be passed by a Lafarge cement truck. As the truck passed I heard a spray of what I think was gravel from the deck of the truck. I looked at my side mirror and saw a there was a chip out of it. I thought for a second and decided to follow this truck into the Lafarge yard. I asked to speak with the dispatcher and explain what happened. He then forwards me to a foreman. The foreman then forwarded me to the operations manager. Here is where it gets interesting. After numerous unanswered voicemails to this guy, I finally decide to call from my cell phone because of call display. Guess what, he picks up second ring. So after explaining the situation and educating him on Newton's laws of motion, he still had a hard time acertaining that the damage to my vehical was caused by the Lafage truck. After trying to reson with the guy, I politely said “I don’t arbitrarily seek compensation for damage that is inflicted on my truck.” I have no recourse other than to write the COO of Lafarge in the hopes we can come to some sort of agreement. I can’t report it the damage to the police because it is under $1000. They will not even take a statement. I can’t report it to my insurance company because the damage is less than my deductible. I mean a $95 bill to Lafarge is less that what they pay truck to sit idle for half an hour. I think in the name of public safety and corporate image, it would be less hassle to come to an agreement than to have me waste the COO’s time. Also they can take this opportunity to educate truck operators to insure the deck of their trucks are clean prior to entering a public roadway. So if you see a Lafarge truck on the road today give them the finger. Maybe they will get the message. [\Rant]

[sarcasm] OMFG…this is going to mildly inconvenience me…What should I do….Write my Alderperson? Posts an inflammatory remark on a message board? I am pissed now damn it! I want action. [/sarcasm] I totally agree with you Rusty. Remarks like that get under my skin. Take the scenario of a severe accident on the Deerfoot. What thoughts are going through 80% of the driver’s minds that are caught in the backlog of traffic? “Oh crap how late is this going to make me?” or “Oh look, there is a car flipped on its side and cop cars have their lights on. I had better slam on me brakes to look!” Whereas, thoughts should be “Oh, I hope everyone is O.K.” or “ Maybe it’s not safe to lock the binders up and look. I will slow down and pass with caution.” But I digress Calgary has to have one of the top wastewater treatment programs going. If it didn’t, then obviously we wouldn’t enjoy the top-notch fisheries we have today. The development of such programs will affect the odd fish holding water. I can live with that, I will just move to one of the other estimated 627 KM’s the Bow offers.

Geez..That almost read like it was authored by one of those MWD (Measurement While Driving) guys. As if they had nothing better to do, then watch the rotary table go around and around and around and around. BTW what are you doing on Craig’s list.... Looking for some MT4M action?
