  1. Took a look at the Pflueger Trion today at Russell's. Agreed. Very sweet reel!
  2. Funny. I just checked the "Care instructions" on the tab of my neoprenes and it says they're okay to wash in cold water. What a novel idea... checking the care instructions..
  3. The only thing I know for sure is that it'll be a large arbor.
  4. I have no clue really.. I've been wiffle waffling for so long now. Originally I was liking the Greys GRXi with the fifty seven extra spools! Then I was liking the Orvis Mach IV.. then the Battenkill once you mentioned it.. now I'm liking the Pflueger President that the guys mentioned above.. I have no clue man. I'll probably wait until next spring now..
  5. Sweet.. I've got Phase 1, 2, and 3 nailed in my first year!!
  6. LOL! Now THERE'S a great line!
  7. Did you spend the extra $15 to get your name engraved?
  8. That Pflueger President is pretty sweet looking! I'm really liking the silver reels..
  9. Psssft! Whatta YOU know Brian.. you were just a guide!
  10. Everyone keeps sayin: "NOW is the time to buy on EBay".
  11. Just did a search on Orvis' website and found out that Monod Sports in Banff carries Orvis stuff. Called them up and they have the exact ones i'm looking at in stock. Guess I'll have to take a drive out there and get fitted!
  12. Any shops in Calgary that carry Orvis waders other than Country Pleasures?? They don't have any bootfoots..
  13. Wonderful. I have a little Karcher pressure washer at home.
  14. Can I put my Bare neoprenes in the washing machine to get rid of the "stank" without wrecking them?
  15. Looking at the bootfoots and trying to figure out if I could squeeze into the Medium versus the Large: http://www.orvis.com/intro.asp?dir_id=758&...38#mensbootfoot I'm about 5'9 and hover in around 195-200 pounds. Size 10 feet..
  16. And it's even true! http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/bearledge.asp
  17. I heard the Pacific Ocean is pretty good, and its not hard to miss..
  18. Now there's a fashion statement if I've ever seen one!!
  19. Wicked! I'm going chasing wolves for sure!! I had no idea you could do that with 4Runners.. that's just an added bonus now!!! Brent.. maybe next season CDock and I will come get you and we can hit the FTR somewhere - preferably where 4x4 is a requirement..
  20. Better for dry fly fishing Brent?? I was going to pick up myself some of that SA Mastery Nymph taper for nymphing and then the GPX or Trout taper for dries...
  21. Purchased tonite on a verbal agreement.. picking it up later this week! Can't wait to take this baby fishing and camping!!
  22. You're correct in that statement Kyle.. the only problem is we rarely see black clear ice anywhere in Canada with all the wind and debris blown onto the water. Also, just because the ice is 3 inches in one spot.. doesn't mean it's 3 inches everywhere. Underwater springs and currents make the ice very unstable in places. Although I'm sure you know this.. alot of the guys probably just didn't agree with your generalization. I always go out on ice that's thinner than probably safe too (and fallen through more times than I can count)... so i'm not raggin on ya... just saying what the rest of the guys are probably thinking.
  23. Doesn't most high end fly line come with a loop built in the end now?
  24. Oh yeh baby! I got myself a couple 24" ice rods last year.. CDock and I have an Ice Cube too.. 4 man. And in 2 weeks we'll have a power auger as well thanks to a fellow board member!
