  1. So if he starts flopping and bashing his head on the rocks.. wet ones are softer than dry ones? Maybe I should've posted this in the shack nasties thread...
  2. Noone going to say anything about it laying on the rocks?!?!! Seriously??
  3. huh! Flying fish! Go figure!
  4. Have it won it yet? Just wonderin..
  5. Interesting.. so market value is quite a bit higher than what the black book says. Thanks dude!
  6. I've caught 2 of those... on my 3 weight... with a single dry fly.
  7. Thanks AndyW.. pretty much all stuff i'm ready to deal with. For a full-size SUV, i'm going to have to deal with bad fuel economy no matter what. The immediate competition is the Ford Expedition, and Chevy Tahoe and/or Suburban. I think they might get 1mpg better on average. I did a bunch of reading today on the brake/rotor issues. The4Runner actually has a similar problem and can be solved by installing slightly larger rotors and stronger calipers and pads. I suspect this can be done with the Sequoia as well. I also read that a good number of these have this weird issue where the VSC, ABS, and something else lights all come on at the same time. It appears to be a fairly easy fix aswell. 7K is lower than I was thinking, but hey, what's th worse that can happen.. they say no and I offer a bit more.
  8. Total hijack here.. but that's okay cause i'm an Oilers fan in an Oilers thread.. Did you guys hear about the Mythbusters episode where they actually let a bull loose in a china shop?!? The damn thing went through the whole place and didn't touch nothing! LoL
  9. Haven't tried it myself, but I was able to do a few other 'do it yourself' maintenance tricks to get the 4Runner back up to 20.5 (mixed city/highway) from like 17 when I first got it. Interesting. I'll give it a go on the next road trip.
  10. EXACTLY. Makes me nervous. And Casterraticus.. they've replied this morning and told me they have some service records that I can see. I'll send mkankmike a PM. (I just put 2 and 2 together with his alias) I guess the next step is the test drive.. needless to say.. i'll be going over this thing with a microscope before I'd make the purchase.

  12. Hey all, So I've read the reviews and done a bunch of research.. basically just looking for some feedback on this specific vehicle. I posted the following on a Toyota forum but haven't gotten any responses yet: Looking at "upgrading" from the 4Runner to a Sequoia. Pretty much strictly for more room inside and a bit better towing capacity. Anyways.. I found this one in town: http://www.showitandsellit.ca/Vehicle.aspx?id=86 Had a look at it yesterday.. it's in pretty good shape other than the cosmetic stuff. Has a big nasty gouge/scratch on the rear drivers side bumper that you can see in the pics. 222,000km (138K miles). I'm a bit worried that the lack of care to the exterior could mean that the mechanical care wasn't there either.. i.e. - no regular maintenance. I've asked a few questions to see if I can get some service records, etc. I'm curious what you guys think.. obviously it's priced significantly lower than other Sequoia's around of the same year. I'm fairly confident that I could fix most of the cosmetic stuff myself.. do you think the price is worth the 'potential' hassle?
  13. You mean like Kipper was before Sutter gave him a shot in Calgary? I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that Garon WILL have better stats than Kipper by the end of this season.
  14. Dude.. they just rode the dinosaurs Flinstones style back then..
  15. rice-a-roni is for pansies! ps - this is how I'm going to start holding big bow river trout:
  16. Sorry to hear that dude. For me it was one of my really close friends here in Calgary.. he was only 24.
  17. I was concerned about last night's game.. I was hoping they'd rebound from the loss. I'm hoping this isn't the start of a losing streak. Time will tell. I like Struds so far! Gave his best to change the momentum!
  18. Toolman is about as "unscientific" an angler as they come.. he has no skills whatsoever.
  19. Oh.. and the truth is.. Maxwell is really the Bow River Sith.
  20. Messier was a forward dude. But man.. ya gotta love that elbow!
