  1. This is really sad news indeed. Jeff was a lovely guy, great fishing buddy, and a wonderful steward of the waters he cared about. Innis & Gunn is never gonna taste the same. Will miss you, Jeff...rest in peace.
  2. Thanks, guys. Much appreciated! Cheers, Ben
  3. During the WCFFE I picked up a motor mount bracket for my Hyde pro series low profile and now I'm looking to buy the motor itself so I can putt around lakes. I've done plenty of research on motors and batteries but the one thing that I'm still struggling with is the shaft length. Can anybody that's running a trolling motor on a drift boat provide any guidance? Thanks, PMD
  4. Maybe he's not too concerned about the fee because he's one of those annoying high income earners that's going to haggle them down to $5.25?
  5. I never book a hotel in NY without checking the registry first: BedBugRegistry.Com Cheers, PMD
  6. This is really a 10 year ~$100M contract and I doubt either Kovalchuk or NJD expect him to be playing beyond 2020. The last five years or so of the contract are for chump change (by NHL standards). The 17 years is just manipulation by Lamoriello to keep the cap hit down to a more manageable number. Hopefully the next CBA will address these types of contracts as it's something of a loophole. That aside, I'm still not sold that this isn't a contract that NJD will regret down the road. Cheers, Ben
  7. Well done on the cleanup! Rich, when are you fly back to Calgary to organize this year's Bow River trash haul??? Cheers, Ben
  8. I had Sirius installed with my new Ford for 6 months but didn't bother to renew. Howard Stern grew pretty old after a while, the comedy channels were all re-runs after listening for a couple of hours, and the 'punk' station played too much hip hop. I'd much rather have XM and listen to the hockey talk all day like Hawgstoppah. Didn't help him out much in the pool, though! Satellite radio was nice for longer road trips and I'd buy an XM radio now but I'm waiting to see what happens with the merger. Apparently the merger between XM and Sirius doesn't necessarily affect their Canadian subsidiaries. Cheers, PMD
  9. http://calsun.canoe.ca/News/Alberta/2008/0...116536-sun.html "If all goes according to plan, work could begin this fall with completion by 2010."
  10. Ha! This pool has been over since last Thanksgiving. Sounds like you want to make a side wager!!! PMD
  11. Any else think this would make for a great tying contest???
  12. My real name came back as Big Stink Jake. That's almost as bad as Birchy's and not very mafia sounding. Keeps the waders warm though. PMD
  13. Great looking pooch, Glen. My avatar pic is my girl. She's getting old now but she still loves the water. Good on you for adopting. Cheers, PMD
  14. Yeah, but I bought a Ford. Nobody that sophisticated is going to steal a Ford!
  15. How old were these vehicles? Did they have engine immobilizers? I just bought a new vehicle and just assumed that with an immobilizer I didn't need to worry about an alarm or any other deterrents. Do I have a false sense of security? And Birchy...if you think this is bad you should try Vancouver. I had my trucke broken into three times in the 18 months I lived there. The only thing stolen was my radio but they did damage the lock such that I had to get in through the passenger seat. I do hope they recover your Blazer and belongings. And if they nab the thieves I hope they throw the book at 'em. Tight lines, PMD
  16. If you do hike in with the float tube keep an eye on your pack. Damn marmots gnawed through to my lunch. I did manage to fish successfully from shore too. Tight lines, PMD
  17. I shuttle my own boat because of insurance concerns. I called my insurance company to ask what my liability was when the shuttle service is driving my vehicle and they told me that I'd still be liable for any claims. It's a pain in the ass to move the vehicles by yourself but the peace of mind was worth it for me. If someone can convince me otherwise that I'm not liable for any damage/injury when someone else is driving my vehicle then I'd certainly consider using a shuttle service again. Tight lines, PMD
  18. I think it might keep things less confusing to have a new thread for each item up for auction. I'l bid $250 to meet Bosephus and Olga. Tight lines, PMD.
  19. That's great news, Don - good work! Quick question though...why triploids? Do they have better trophy trout potential? Cheers, PMD
  20. I'm in if I'm in town. Which night...or all of 'em? I hope to be in town either the 27th or 28th. Cheers, PMD
  21. There's also Lloyd creek which isn't worth fishing from what I understand. And, of course, Palmer Ranch which we never seem to hear about on this board. I've often wondered if Spring Creek is spring-fed but I doubt it. Cheers, PMD
  22. Damn, I wish you were my boss, GK! Are you hiring???
  23. What about river etiquette??? I always enjoy reading those heated threads.
  24. Great thread...loved the Pistols stuff. Maybe we should start a retro punk thread so I have to see Kiss without makeup again??? http://youtube.com/watch?v=HcOZ6xFxJqg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8HQYmFTdN0 And my all time favourite that nobody has ever heard of: PMD
  25. You met the Clash? Damn...the only band that mattered. How'd you meet 'em? Last year I met Gretzky at a steakhouse in Chicago. This was after the trade deadline and he talked about a couple of deals the Coyotes were working on that didn't go down. Same night I also took a leak at the urinal next to Grant Fuhr. I didn't think it an appropriate place to introduce myself. PMD
