    My October

Nothing beats small water, many a great memory in creeks much like that one. There's something awesome about getting to know a piece of water, learning her moods and finding the fish. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Nice tie, pretty creative way to present a cluster. The Vladi worms are pretty awesome as well (nice job Wolfie!). Excellent work guys (and inspiration for a few new patterns on my end).
  3. For me it was catching my personal best cutts (largest was 22"), managed to hit the golden stones on the right day and had some of (if not the best) dry fly action of my life. Nothing beats catching monster cutts ranging from 18-22" the sad part was I had an even larger one but lost it prior to netting.
  4. Nice shutdown game in the third period. Kipper was solid but Jokinen is still a liability, but with 3 semi consistent games resulting in wins, I can't complain too much. The questions about the Glencross on Drury hit will rage for a while but from what I saw it did not look dirty just unfortunate for Drury. Avery getting hit by Dion, priceless
  5. Thanks, it is a pretty easy tie, I've shortened up the tail on my newest ones (they'll get field tested tomorrow) here's hoping it fishes well. Looking forward to seeing what other variations others come up with, and a big thanks to Maxwell for organizing this.
  6. Here's my Bunny Bugger Hook: TMC300 (weighted and Gold Cone Head) Thread: 6/0 Olive Tail: Dark Olive Marabou with Light Olive Flashbou Body: Poly Glimmer Peacock Bronze Rib: Gun Metal Blue Wire Hackle: Strip of Olive Rabbit Zonker with a Black Zonker for the collar.
  7. Agreed, McElhinney is also a fellow fly fisher check the vid here (not sure if he reads this board) but hey Curtis nice win!
  8. Thanks, and yeah it's just the eye of the hook. But I think the next batch will have some melted mono eyes.
  9. Not from Fort Sask but I do order from them fairly regularly, last one was last week (it arrived on Monday) so they are still open. I always order online and pay via paypal and aside from a few stock issues have never had a problem. They notify me of any stock issues via my Paypal receipt so I can't help you on the email question. As suggested giving them a call may be the best option. Hope it all works out. Cheers.
  10. The tail is a combination black marabou and red/black leech hair. The body is a red black synthetic leech dubbing (cannot remember who makes it). Wing is a black strip of rabbit fur tied Zonker style with a red wire rib. Finally a red saddle hackle and a cone head complete the deal.
  11. Found the camera. Here's my latest tie, leeches.
  12. Wolfie, that's one nice Leech, I've been tying something similar. As soon as I find the camera I'll post a photo.
  13. Thanks, for those that are interested the pattern was featured on Sport Fishing on the Fly a while back, they were using them on the Columbia and I figured it'd be gangbusters on the Bow. Tied up a bunch last spring and they have been deadly. I checked the SFOTF website and they have the recipe and tying instructions Here. I like mine with a Cone Head as it adds extra weight.
  14. Those are awesome. I've been contemplating tying some but the construction is somewhat intimidating, thanks for the step by step!
  15. There are some awesome ties in this thread, nice job guys. My latest are some stone-buggers. Had a lot of success on the Bow with them this year.
  16. I'm using an old corner computer desk... I think I'm almost out of space.
  17. Thanks! I figure if I can roll a Hopper/Stonefly and maybe a large Caddis into one fly I can cut back on the number of boxes I have to carry
  18. After tying a bunch of nymphs, figured I give a go at a new attractor pattern. I call it the August fly. It's really just a Stimulator hybrid, with rubber legs and a foam body.
  19. Due to some work issues I'll have to send my flies by courier. I have a nice collection of my favorite stones (nymphs and dries) to add to the the collection.
  20. I'm in for a dozen, just pm with where I need to send them. Any preference as to what we want to send?
  21. Thanks everyone I appreciate the feedback, to answer a couple questions; no I have not tried hackles on the foam bodies, but I'll be giving it a shot on some October Caddis I'm tying. The wing material is "SuperWing Material" from Superfly, the color on these ones is mottled brown. Once again, thanks for the comments.
  22. While tying up some hoppers, figured I'd take a crack at some foam bodied stones. Looking at them now, the wings are a little too large, oh well I have a winter to perfect the recipe.
