Grabbed this one a couple weeks ago, not fishing related although I was on my way to go fishing. Photo was taken just west of Sundre. It's a Great Gray Owl, he sat on the fence post for a little while and then just casually swooped into the grass at his feet and came up with a decent sized meal. It was just one of those lucky moments where I had my camera and managed a decent shot. It's the first Gray Owl I've seen in this province, but a friendly reminder that when you least expect it, nature surprises you. As it's not exactly a "fishing" photo feel free to delete this post if it violates the rules of the photo of the month contest.

So here it is, do or die. In a season where we have seen every line combination possible, every excuse/explanation thrown at us, every arm chair coach's contemplation, media condemnation, from contenders to pretenders flip flopping daily, tonight it ends, we must win. A loss tonight will be blamed on injuries, on reffing, on coaching, and it may be right, the flip side is a win only adds another game. My playoff beard is itchy, my jersey needs a wash, everything I can do as a fan has been done. I have spent thousands on tickets, hours of my time watching the games I could not go to, hundreds on merchandise, it's time the players step up and realize being a member of this team carries a price, and we as fans deserve some return. Go flames!

Just got back from the Dome, boring game but glad to see the defense (except Phaneuf) playing like they should. Dion received more than a few boos, but a win is a win and 5 points back up on Vancouver is a welcome outcome.

Huge win tonight, my throat is sore from screaming at the TV. A hell of an end to a tough game, and Edmonton fans having to watch our win!!!

Hi all, looking for a few opinions here, I received a new 8 wt TFO Axiom rod for Christmas and need to match a reel to it (I have the 5 wt Axiom paired with a Lamson Velocity and it served me very well last year). Anyway I'd like to spend ~300$ on a new reel for my new stick and am wondering if there was a better value out there (it'll be strictly a streamer rig). If not, another Lamson it'll be. Thanks in advance.
