  1. 2 days, graves to FC is about 14k. I d guess if you paddled you might be able to do that in a 16 hour day but pretty much 2 days
  2. Well everything should be waterproof or able to get wet as it fly fishing equipment. YOu'll have to get a waterproof one if thats what you want. Sage typhoon series or the Simms are water proof
  3. There are restrictions put upon Transalta, let me give you this anology. If you pass a driver's license exam the govt approves you to operate a motor vehicle, if you rearend someone even if they stopped short you are at fault and have to pay.
  4. Chota's are the end all be all boot. I've now got well over 200 trips on mine with out any issues.... I've had korkers that don't make it to that mark. As Jeremy said get some CHOTA SLTs and forget about boot problems. Springbrook distributes them in the province (same place as TFO)
  5. In the section I have been fishing it is still present in a strong way, I was surprised that it hasn't been scowered of the bottom with all the water we've had
  6. Can you give a source? I've seen tons of people go through most make it through on their tubes and kayaks, mind you i'm not a fluid dynamisist seems like a strange comment seeing the reason behind doing this was to make the river passable
  7. you know Doc there are speed signs on deerfoot that people ignore
  8. Does anyone know when this thing is going to be finished?? the City of Calgary website states spring 2008, clearly not the case. http://www.harviepassage.ca/about.html WHat needs to be completed? the mayors message states it will be completed in spring 2011 http://www.harviepassage.ca/images/HP_PressRelease.pdf After weeks of rafters floating through the passage the city has put the bouys across the passage again and i see Kayakers there all time. The passage was challenging but I didn't feel at risk with my skiff going over. Does any one know what the bylaw charge/fine is for traversing the passage if you do get pinched?
  9. I used mine a week ago and it just went Click..... figured being a rim fire it should go off and the primer was dented???
  10. Dont forget the SJW, probably your most used fly on the bow and it's super easy to tie. Got to FT buy some wire, some size 4-8 Daiichi 1870s, wrap the wire, no thread just simplicity
  11. oh no he didn't and there is the post of the year... my hat's off to you Mike
  12. Ebay is about your best right now as sage isn't shipping anymore Zs. So what stores have is what it is.

  16. No it wasn't dumb luck, the fish are really keyed into the stones right now
  17. Jeff the best luck I've had is with split lampreys.... my best story and best day ever was a couple of years ago on teh fraser my dad, bro and I got 11 fish the smallest being 6' biggest wast just over 13'
  18. as jeremy said the douche was long lining he had a rope with a rock on the end and bunch of trebles strung off the rope. I would have liked to use the rope to string him up
  19. do you cry when you are stuck at work watching others drift by?
  20. The boat issue vs wadenwalker is going to come up forever, I do a lot of drifting and sometimes you just don't see the guys on shore. If dude is crouching in tall grass wearing fishing gear waiting for fish to rise it's not often easy to spot them and I think this is where a lot of issues come from, I don't have a solution just noted. I was drifting with Copperjonnie and Uberfly this season, we pulled in about 15m above a seam, got out and we just preparing to fish. My boat was totally visable and i would be able to tell we were fishing this seam, but another guide swings in his boat over the seam and proceeds to fish it with his clients... I was a rod's distance away. I was going to knock him out j/k at the launch but after fishing right behind his weak ass skillz and hooking up 4 fish I figured he earned his karma. I do remember who he is.....
  21. Really then I am corrected I hadn't heard of a change....loots
