  1. I have owned a pair of Proline for the past 1 1/2... and they are about done.. but they cost me only$89.00 bucks.. unlike some of they others that are 300 plus
  2. here is a link for ya.. hope it helps: http://www.petfriendly.ca/rentals.php?id=1...p;city=Victoria
  3. Wondering what the best time is to get out on the water in the morning? Sun comes up at about 5:30ish?
  4. back to the original question: I think you can bring beer as long as it isn't opened until you are camping.
  5. Some times if you tighten the knot to quick it heats up and weakens the line. wet the knot with spit next time and see if it helps
  6. I proposed the same question... heres the link: http://flyfishcalgary.com/board/index.php?showtopic=5151
  7. I would say below 22x bridge or near Hulls wood at fish creek. Easy paths to walk and not much of a hike, plus the fishing is above average.
  8. Picklejar lakes in K country. 3 hour hike.. no ATV's though

    Rainbows

Very Very Nice.... Where the hec did you catch them?
  10. I just went to there website www.fortresslake.com .... man, you are one lucky guy!!! When are you going?
  11. Just throw some big old Nymphs, SJW, Stones, or streamers 2-8 feet from the bank on the Bow, you will be graced with a fish much larger than 12". P.s. In slow water of course
  12. Sorry to hear that Jimmy, I guess it beats having the surgeon make a mistake though!
  13. Let me just say, that as a Chiropractor I can understand some people may have had some negative experiences with certain Doctors. I'll will be the first to admit that there are some slime ball docs out there who get you going 4x/week for years without anything to show for it. But I will also say this is the exception, not the norm. It takes minimum of 8 years to be a licensed D.C. in Alberta, 4 years for the degree and 4 years of Graduate/ clinic work.... so unlike some of have mentioned, we are a very legitimate health care profession and go through extensive board exams to get a practice permit. We cannot fix everyone, but nor can any other healthcare profession. I believe that many types of alternative health care can be beneficial includng acupuncture, massage, physio, meditation.. etc etc, but again, it is not for everyone. Everyone is entitled to there opinion, and that just my two cents.
  14. Thanks for the Input. I did really well last weekend.. maybe 15-18 fish in about 6 hours.... there are a lot of big fish in the lake as well and FAT! Basically everything i tried seemed to produce a fish.. with the exception of the SJW.. which is odd. I even added a dry fly below my nymph and that seemed to work! Seems like this lake would be good to take beginners to learn.
  15. I have never fished at bullshead before, nor have a ever fished a lake before. Looking for some input on best fly patterns and techniques. I have a pontoon, but from what i have read shoreline casting seems to work just fine. I was thinking SJW, and some larger nymph patterns? but do i just leave it float or retrieve? Maybe some streamers with a fast retrieve... Any and all input is appreciated
  16. No i wasn't fishing, just taking the dog out for a walk and swim. Thanks for the heads up though. I was going to head up to Upper kananaskis lake... maybe try my luck there.
  17. Just wondering if anyone has had a chance in the last few days to get out on the Bow? I was down at Edworthy tonight and the Vis is still about 1.5 feet, but i'm not sure if it is the same below the city? Also wondering if anyone can make a suggestion about a good lake within a couple hours to fly fish, I have a pontoon to help me get around?
  18. I stayed at Natures Hideaway this past weekend on the highwood river. Only about 30 minutes from Calgary and it feels like your 3 hours away. Its about a 15 minute walk to where the Highwood meets the Bow. Caught all rainbows, only one that was over 18inches, but it was still a great time. If you walk out to where the rivers meet and hike upstream 500-1500 meters then the water is perfect for nymphing. Good luck!
