Beach Front Campsites
pokerfish replied to uglystick's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
Redfish campground on Kootenay Lk, can get crowded in the summer tho -
Rainy's 0.5 mm cross link foam. looks good, but it is a might fragile. I don't think it would handle more than one fish. So I am still looking for ideas there. And thanks for the kind words.

http://s1146.beta.photobucket.com/user/ThomHviz/media/20130208_165952.jpg.html Playing with the foam, so far not that happy with the rigidity of the wings, but it will float. also using the foam as a wrapped body. The leftmost one has no fray wing material rather than foam, but I think it is a bit too transparent. any one else played with this stuff? Tom

If you are looking for testimonials, I am definitely available to give it a ride. T

This looks to be as much fun as last year - and that was a hoot. Taking cash as well as the cc ( the significant other tracks the cc expenses) cuz the bargains are there. New #5 10 foot on the horizon. CU there. Tom

WOW love the extended bodies - neat segmentation.

I was looking for a replacement for snowshoe hare foot, and wondered if raw wool might do it (for some dry caddis patterns). If you are tying with it, how is it used. I have a couple of clumps from a farming friend, but it is uncarded. Looks like it may have potential. Looking for some help, so I dont have to climb the learning curve alone. Thanks

I haven't tied the balanced leaches. I bought some of the #12 and 14#'s with that in mind tho. I have Geo Daniel's book on short line nymphing and I liked a bunch of his patterns with the smaller jig eyes as well. Nice ties on the skulls.

possibly the best non fishing video I have seen. Here is the intro that came with the link Must view on full screen. What a ride! What a driver!!! You’d have to wear Depends to ride with this guy! Betcha can't watch just once. It sounds like the little car is running bad.....one reason it sounds like it is cutting out is because the rev limiter keeps the R.P.M.. from going too high and blowing the motor........the other popping sound is the wastegate on the turbo. Also note at the very end, the sparks coming from the rear wheel rims as the tires burn down .. CLICK HERE : Driving the Ford

I am looking to add to the collection (pile?), and since I am very happy with the performance of the two reels I bought from these folks, was considering a #5 10 ft Myth rod. Anybody tried them? Thanks http://www.allenflyfishing.com/myth-rod-series/

I have had a 5/7 on my spey?switch (amundson 3/4) and have been really happy with the performance. JUst got the sz 1 trout reel to go on my 3wt BVK, and landed a few Bow River bows and a couple browns in the 18-20in range with no trouble (and considerable delight) Delivery took 10 days - came by mail. Shipping was n/c but they were running a special.
