Don't get me wrong this is my favourite place on the web, however I wonder what could be done to improve it? To get things going it would be nice to have a really chat section, where people talk back and forth in really time in stead of waiting around....Thoughts?

If they bane it in the regs I'll of course respect the regs and be in support. On the other hand you'll probably see me there come spring unless something changes.

I don't think you should compare fish with a grizzly. For example, no one would argue that an insect life has equal value to a trout. A reasonable person understands there is a difference between an insect and a fish in terms of mental capacity, ability to reproduce quickly, longevity etc. By the same token you can't compare a bear to a fish. Nor should you compare a bear to a person.

You can't compare the two. A fish has the brain the size of a pea. There are thousands of fish per KM in the Bow. Most fly fisherman respect the fish and do thier best not to harm the fish unless they plan to eat it. Not many people eat bears.

So to open a new topic...how do people feel about banning polar and grizzly hunting in Canada? A disgusting blood sport of deprived knuckle draggers or legitimate sport?

I started tying a deep crimson that I think works better than a bright red. Note: I use two flies randomizing thier positions to determine what works best when I'm evaluating new patterns.

I was thinking of this Friday but a bit concerned with getting up and down the hill at Mac if there is snow/ice. Has anyone tried it laterly? Is Lousie still running?

Thanks again to all that sent me the stone fly pics. Here are some of the patterns I've come up with.

I carry three sets of nyoprenes and one set of regular ski gloves. After fishing for a while when the nyoprenes get cold and ice up I switch to a fresh pair. The ski gloves are for the walk back to the truck. If someone has any suggestions to keep ice forming on your rod I'd like to hear them. The commercial products don't work very well....
