  1. I'm not trying to stir the pot here, but... Originality might not be a bad thing. FlyBC is already using the mayfly as their logo BK
  2. Kind of off topic, but.... I tied some chronnie's using acetate floss and Peacock Ice Dub instead of herl. When I dipped the flies in acetone, the ice dub turned very brittle. When i rolled it between my fingers it crumbled and fell off. I've had this happen occasionally with head cement as well. BK
  3. Although I believe trout are opportunistic feeders, I do believe they are taking the Hopper pattern as just that. Think back to when we were kids, (That's a long way for some of us), when we went fishing we used worms and when we could catch them, live hoppers. I don't think the fish were mistaking a live hopper for a Stonefly, and they did catch fish. On the other hand I don't think the trout key on Hoppers as much as they do on Stone's so maybe an overlap. My $.02 BK Then again, who really cares. Fishing hoppers is just so damn much fun
  4. I use a pair of needle nose before tying the fly. As Rusty says, better to break them before tieing the bug I use mostly Daaichi/Mustad hooks and usually only break them when I get stupid.
  5. Damn Harry Didn't see the post 'til today Would have gone. Working Sunday?
  6. Decals and a "T"
  7. Troutfitters used to rent them out. I'm not sure if they still do.
  8. Only for you big fella
  9. Pumping the fish's stomach would be very hard on them. What most guys do is pump the throat, which is not hard on them at all, if done properly. Throat extraction is more often used by lake fisherman and can be advantagious there. I don't think it's worth the time on the flow.
  10. Nice work Pipes. Westwinds used to sell oars Enjoy the new boat. BK
  11. Do the clinic Dave. I'm in
  12. Haven't been there for a couple of years, but there was a fly shop across the road from the Sandman motel. Good shop. They even shuttled us one afternoon.
