  1. been fishing since about 3 or 4 years old - Lake Ontario and small lakes in the Napanee/Kingston area as well a couple of small chalk streams. Was convinced by a fellow worker in Turner Valley to try ff'ing on the Sheep near the gas plant. Never looked back and that was 1975. Really cut my teeth on the lower Bow in '76. Spent many evenings at the 1/4 mile hole. Started tying in 1977. Built first rod in 1978 So fishing for about 55 and ff'ing for 32.
  2. I'm with Missin' I constantly suggest to clients that being accurate (like hit a dinner plate from 30 to 40 feet regardless of surroundings and conditions not just on a field in dead calm) is MUCH more important than casting 70 feet and unable to hit a dinner table. Now in SOME situations on flowing water 70 feet or more AND accurate is really handy Most people most of time catch most of their fish within 30 feet of their position
  3. I gota say that going with the "lowest cost provider" is usually the WORST possible option. Typical guide rates for the upper is $480 for a full day for two people in a drift boat. One guide per 3 anglers would be the best otherwise NO ONE gets the attention they deserve. Not many places to put 12 people on shore in close proximity on the upper. $140 pp for a cluster f*** is reasonable ............ for a 'quality experience' it is not. What date is this ........... so I can stay well away from the piece of river you'll be on. You can pm me ........... let me know who is doing the trip ...........maybe I can give you some feed back as I guide in the area and know all of the players.
