  1. Could be, triploid grass carp are more common than most realize.
  2. It's a old 135 Martin sold by Sears as a Ted Williams, got it off eBay. I recently started to have an interest in fishing vintage equipment. Kinda fun.
  3. That should stop any bitchin' about guides hoggin all the good water
  4. MTB, If those grass carp came from Claresholm it would be a long trip. Storm runoff from here ends up in the Old Man downstream of Ft MacLeod
  5. There's an outfit around that advertises exclusive float fishing trips on the Reserve. Can't remember the name but I've seen the advert somewhere this yr.
  6. Show your posting to to your wife and it may improve your chances of goin' fishin' with the Jessicas
  7. Thanks Rick Really like those old photographs of the loaded down game poles and the like, shows how attitudes have changed over the course of time.
  8. I wonder if he's ever sunk a hook in himself
  9. 'K . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
  10. Outdoor pursuits have always been my getaway and I'll admit to spending years fishin', huntin' and skiing, sometimes gettin' paid for it but combating eminent starvation for 5 people, highly expectant and extremely narrowminded bankers and coupla hundred or so large grazers lookin' over the fence at ya have a way of becoming top priority. That said and while I have absolutely no plans for a complete "traditional" retirement, just a slow change in direction, I hope that within the next 4 or 5 yrs to be able to be more like Schaupmeyer and/or Andersen and go fissin' when and where I effin' well please, thank you.
  11. Tell the bears and cougars that all Calgarians are high in nutritional energy and taste really really good!
  12. Damn too bad happens though and I know what it's like, I'm working on my 3rd phone and 3rd digital camera in the past yr and a half, all lost to stupid inattentive BS on my part
  13. Borrow a cell and go down there and phone yourself.... if you're anything like my kids you'll have something loud and obnoxious as a ringtone and you should be able to hear it from at least 300 metres. No need to thank me and good luck
  14. Actually its the size of the spots, they're bigger than the norm for Alta WSCT. Caught a dozen and a half outta there and they're just like peas in a pod. Thought @ first these had some yellowstone genetics but now I ain't sure. The stream was stocked with cutts in the 20's and 30's then received periodic stocking of rainbows until 89. Probably just another spotting phase.. from almost no spots like BBTrout's cutt to heavily spotted like on the Liv and the OM to this and mostly testing DNA pure. Damn things are all over the map as spotting patterns goes. Remember that thread BBBrent, back on crybaby's BB about that ongoing UofL study. Another thing.. see how dark the fish are, late in the yr to be that dark. Pics where taken Aug !st Sorry for the ramblings, got chased outta my fishin' holes and now I'm spending too much thinkin' and Maxwell....north of #3 but south of 520 Take Care and someone do a rain dance
  15. Jeez Dave I said it before...chuck norris is a puddy tat.
  16. Whats wrong and/or different about this westslope cutt? and there's no need to criticize my photographic skills
  17. Been there dun that... try that this wk and ur liable to get a chopper to drop 400 Litres of H2O on yer azz
  18. Oh come on Paul tell us what you really think Money Paul its all about money... money talks and bullshit walks. A billion dollar development, tax dollars for the MD, someone getting wealthier, what did you think was gonna happen? I like the quote from the old farmer in todays Herald "Water's gonna be the next oil" and you know...he's right. 300 million people south of us are gonna demand it!
  19. What? talk clearer with her mouth full?? I don't think I'd worry about perch in a large river full of large finned predators but that wasn't the issue. Perch in the Bow are a provincially regulated sportfish and "huck em in the bush" is illegal...period. Does "huck em in the bush" mean that I can, in all good conscious, go to a stream where the brookies have crowded out the cutts and the bulls and start firing them fukkinwaterrats into the trees?? I wouldn't think so.
  20. Holy crap is right...ouch! Think I stick to bullfightin' or kickin' pitbulls in the nuts for my jollies..... safer
