  1. That would be great, thanks! I remember young and broke very well.
  2. Thanks for Peacefulwarrior and tungsten!
  3. Thanks jdangler. I have 3 friends at work, all of which have been treated for prostate cancer, and all of whom are cancer free today due to early detection. as JD said, Any of you over 40 NEED to get checked. This cancer is completely treatable if detected early. If not detected early, to be very blunt, you die. And trust me, from personal experience it can be a very ugly way to go. I can't tell you guys how much I appreciate the support in this. But if I knew that someone reading this got screened who otherwise wouldn't have, that would make me more proud than any donations And hydro, I put you in the draw even though I don't like you much! Edit: Lots of donations/raffle tickets last night. Thanks to: Cheeler Gustuphson Golfman09 JDAngler Bloom Pacreseltoro (and thanks to you guys again for letting me use this forum for this cause) DoctorK Wayne I'm up to $1170. Thanks again.
  4. I echo what fishfreak says. I've used both and really like both. Bought direct from Glenn a couple of times and ordered a few times from Icky. Very, very fast shipping. Will use both again. I do like the idea of the vets though. I'm sure I'll order from them this year as well.
  5. Thank you dutchdryfly! Hope the exchange rate was good for you!!
  6. So far 19 tickets, with Crogg being the latest entrant. (Thanks Crogg!) I'm at a loss however as to what to do with Hydro. Since he donated to another team member, should I include him in the raffle?
  7. Thanks Dick, and Hydro, and H2O!
  8. Hey, how about all the guys I argue with and don't like me? Donate to my teammates, that'll show me!
  9. I was going for "american chopper" style chops, but accidentally shaved a bit off yesterday, leaving what you see above. My wife says she is going to take another cuz I look scary.
  10. Thanks for the laugh. Seriously. Agus needs it by the way. And he's my boss!
  11. Thanks to Avalanche for kicking this off in style!! And to Uberfly!
  12. Hello Everyone, Jack Simpson at Amundson has graciously donated a Midge 3/4 wt (2 tips), 8 ft, 4 pc, backpack rod to be raffled for my Prostate Cancer Fundraiser. Here is the catalog page: This rod looks perfect for a day hunting down cutties, or whatever else might haunt your favorite small stream! I'm pretty sure FishTales is carrying these if you want to preview. So here is how this is going to work. Raffle "tickets" are $10.00 each. The tickets are purchased by donating to my Movember site at: Rick's Donation Site and clicking on the "donate to me" link. If you don't feel comfortable donating on line, PM me and we can set something else up. PLEASE put your FFC name somewhere when you donate! I will track entrants via the donation website. If you donate $10, one ticket, $20 is two, and so on. At the end of the month (December 1), I will put everyone into a hat and have my 12 yr old daughter do the draw (because it will make her happy). Good luck! And thanks again Jack!
  13. I will use bigger swivels if I know I'm going to be fishing faster water. Eliminates the need for extra weight. I have a little box with several different sizes. As to tangling, I think it helps reduce. But remember, it is another hinge in the system which does not help. But I agree with Pete. I think in the end it helps. It certainly helps your leader last longer.
  14. thanks Crogg. I'll do that! And why do these things always have to turn into "my boots are better than your boots?" I have the Korkers and really like them. My bet is if I had bought the Simms, I'd really like them too. Same with Patagonia.
  15. I'm changing mine after 1 season. But I did a lot of hiking on them when I should have switched over to my hiking soles. Just lazy. I don't know if I'm going to get new felts yet. Depends on how the vibram does.
  16. Full season on mine, and as anyone who has fished with me this year can attest, that included a TON of walking/hiking. Never had a drop of trouble with the interchangeables coming off. I did have some grit get in the BOA and had to open it up to clean it out once. I did wear out a pair of felts and just bought their version of the vibram with the studs. Trying them out tomorrow. Love the boots.
  17. Thanks for that. I don't have the slightest idea where you where. I hope I stumble upon it one day!
  18. The man says "no" To which the demon replies "well, you're probably not going to like Fridays!"
  19. And Environment Minister??
  20. Geez Rev, what a suck up! Nice shots boys!
  21. See, I don't have the slightest issue with that viewpoint. I don't necessarily share it, because I don't think I've ever been bored catching fish. Totally a to each his own thing. You stated your opinion without trying to beat everyone over the head with your moral superiority, unlike the notable exception that started this whole post!
  22. Schaaa--freakin--weeet! Chartreuse and white, my favorite saltwater colors.
