  1. I needed this: http://translate.google.com/translate_t?langpair=es|en Holy Crap, que fue divertido! I escupir en la cara de Chuck Norris dice Rickr del infierno!
  2. Escribir en español en un sitio web Inglés es muy pretencioso.
  3. Best of luck Lynn. Our prayers are with you.
  4. Suck up to Dave. He can change your # of posts at will.
  5. Granted. But not better than girls, though in all honesty, the Z-axis, Sage, and sharkskin will cost you MUCH less in the long run! Edit: Back to the post--Very sweet rig!
  6. You and Toolman are working together again? I thought you guys decided to end that co-dependent relationship. I know the fish, and probably most of us fishermen, wish you would end it. The good news for most of us it they will be hitting water most of us couldn't dream of. If anyone needs tools for the forestry industry, sound like you are SOL again this winter!!
  7. When I was in University, I could afford beer, and sometimes food. I did get "excited" from time to time, but it wasn't over a fishing rod. Just an observation.
  8. On the Bow, typically 2X to the worm and 3X to the bottom two. I will sometimes drop to 4X. I will use 6 lb Vanish from time to time, but frankly don't like tying knots with it. The 2X, 3X combo has been killer lately.
  9. That is spectacular!! Major congratulations. The level of satisfaction you feel must be off the charts.
  10. Hey Greg, Drove around Texas for YEARS with a couple of rods sticking out of my passenger side rear mirror. Never had a problem. Get to the spot, grab the rod, fish. I like it!
  11. That's what happens when you post a pic of your "spot" on the internet!
  12. This morning when I was coming back from my Sunday morning coffee trip, I ended up behind a blue car with two fly rods attached to the hood of the car, extending over the roof The rods must have been 50 feet long, each. Or maybe just 12.5 feet or so, with two of the biggest effin fly reels you have ever seen attached to them. Knowing it could only be Toolman, I honked to say hi. No response. So when the road went from 2 lanes to 4, I hit the gas, pulled alongside, honked and waved again. They slowed way down, then pulled over and stopped. Skeered, I think. Anyway, laughing, I pulled over, backed up and had a nice conversation with Toolman and Bhurt who were heading out of the city to look for fish. I'm sure they lied to me about where they were going. Anyway, the heck with logos, we should all get those plastic things for the hoods of your cars and leave our flyrods hanging out for all to see. Can't wait to get mine!! I drive a Silver Saturn. Honk and I'll pull over!
  13. Has to be England. Written from a British perspective.
  14. Hey Don, I knew. I am proud to live here and call it my second home. My undying thanks to all current, past and future members of your Armed Forces. Rick Reeves, USN, ET1(SS) 1980-1988
  15. I was taught to nymph by Maxwell and Toolman. Unless I misunderstood my lessons, the indicator doesn't really float anything. It should be 1.5 to 2X the water depth to the top fly. Personally, I like it better closer to the 1.5 part of that, but the bottom line is that I don't think the indicator bobbing has any impact at all on the top fly, which in my case is either a worm or a big honkin' stone fly, quite often after a weight or a swivel. So it becomes a matter of sensitivity more that floatability. It can help drag the fly along through small hangs, I guess, but in reality as soon as the indicator changes speed at all, I set the hook anyway. I fished some choppy water today. Worked like a charm. The only downside to the thingamabobber in my mind is it does not cast quite as well as a Rowley, and it can hang line from time to time. Small price to pay for the increased sensitivity IMO.
  16. I say LF is next!
  17. Guys, though your participation is down, it is a LONG winter here if memory serves. I think this thread is a great idea. Give it some time if you can stand it as I would imagine overall traffic on the board is way down now that winter is rearing its ugly head.
  18. Hey ladystrange, I remember when I was a teenager, one of my favorite things to do was wear an old concert t-shirt and my gunkiest runners to the local golf course and sign up as a single. You could see the panic on the old guys faces when I asked to join them. I was a big hitter and could outhit most men. Sure was fun to see the new look on their faces! Obviously I have no idea what it is like to be a girl on the river. But I would absolutely love to see you with a pink rod, and to see you rub some idiots face in it when you outfished him.
  19. LK2, Way to exhibit willpower my man! The bullies don't stand a chance.
  20. To me, this all kinda started with American Choppers (actually, it started with WWF, but that' a whole different conversation). American Choppers showed it is perfectly fine to treat people like crap, as long as it was good TV. I don't want to say the people on the show have no redeeming qualities, because I'm sure they probably do, but they rarely show any of them on the show. Seems that these shows point out that the ends justify the means. As long as the product is good, who cares how you produce it. Not really all that true in real life. The proliferation of these shows is staggering. Survivor shows the same qualities (integrity is nothing when compared with 1 million dollars), Flip this House, the one with the cooking nazi, America's Top Model, etc. etc. Where in real life does this really happen? But if TV shows that it is ok, is it a stretch to believe it will start creeping in to everyday behavior?
  21. BBT, That's just mean!!
  22. Prayer.
  23. Good luck Todd! And to your sister as well. My mom fought and beat Breast Cancer, and I pray your sister will as well.
  24. Max, Great pics of your little sis. I love the pink in her hair. I have a daughter a little older and I can't get her to fish to save my life. The rest of the pictures are great as usual. I saw LK at Hansons yesterday and he was drooling over a Bully rod he has his eyes on. He is well and truly addicted, just like you. Now get a effin job and stop depressing everyone here!
  25. Hydro, You can get hi vis gold stren (the most visible mono I know of) at Wholesale. I bought some to experiment with an all mono high sticking technique I read about and seeing it was absolutely no problem. I've been using Thingamabobbers for a little over a month. Wouldn't even dream of going back to anything else. I know it is time of year related as well, but my hook up rate has skyrocketed since I switched.
