Out of curiosity, if you don't have a HDTV receiver, aren't you just watching digital cable? I'm not completely sure, but I think you need the box to process all the extra picture data?

Right next door to the Dry Cleaners in my neighborhood is a Day Care. One evening I'm dropping off some shirts and one of the Day Care employees is outside with a couple of little boys, say 2 or 3 yrs old. One of the little boys whips down his training pants and starts to pee right on the sidewalk. The young day care girl is mortified "stop it Joey!. A young mother and myself are watching this and laughing our asses off. Wish I could still just pee wherever I wanted!

First off, what's this "we" crap? You pimpin' SJWs stuff now? And is 10g the give away rate? Seems a bit steep for streamers that are too heavy for me to cast and as such, are just going to repeatedly hit me in the head. But what the hell, if ya got paypal and I can put it on my credit card.....

Weedy, It probably doesn't show it on google, but if you look at the Chaparral one, there is a big hill in the park built from the fill from the lake. It is 30 ft. deep in places, and I think troutlover told me once there is a 40 ft. hole in it, though I don't know where. I think they are all the same type of thing.

Two years ago I was skating with my kids. I was showing my son how I could do a "hockey stop" and he couldn't. Teased him a little mercilessly. Skated at him at full speed (or my version of it) and did the hockey stop. Unfortunately, my feet slipped out from under me and I hit the ice vertically. Knocked out my breath and scared my kids. "Are you ok daddy? Why can't you talk daddy?" Once I got my breath back my oldest son, the one I was teasing, tries to help me get up. That was the moment I realized I had cracked or badly bruised my ribs. Skating career over. I think I told that story here once before. Sorry about that, happens when you get old.

Hah! Its possible that dad's rule has an exception. SJW, if you give me one of your fully stocked fly boxes I'll test to see if those pretty shiny things catch fish.

At least you're Canadian. Try this: Don't play hockey Don't curl. Don't skate. Think ice fishing is insane. I never know what to do with myself in the winter. I would have gone skiing today but its' too effin cold. Sigh.

Weedy, If you look a little south and west, you'll find Chaparral (my neighborhood lake). They have them too. I would call them piers or docks more than anything else. People tie up their kayaks, paddleboats, canoes or whatever to them. Many just sit on 'em. They do make great casting platforms as well. My buddy has a house on one of these neighborhood lakes a little further south. I went out on the dock to fish a bit (the night I stuck a streamer in my head) and when I dropped my leech in the water and was stripping out line, a HUGE rainbow swam from under the dock to investigate. Didn't catch him, but I will never again pass up a chance to cast at these docks when I'm drifting by.

My dad used to say there are lures that catch fish, and lures that catch fishermen. I don't doubt the same is true of flies.....

Hope you guys have the contest and both win. I wish I had something worthwhile to offer up as an incentive (other than the whole live longer thing). How about I bring the winner the bottle of their favorite spirit (within reason) to the get together this summer? LF, I was running 10+ crews when I quit. Monster stress. But what I found was that it wasn't the cigarette that relieved the stress, it was the 5 minutes away from the issue that does it.

Hey LF, I tried many, many different stop smoking methods. I found the patch the most effective (this was years ago), but after 6 months or so I would always start up again. About 10 yrs ago my then 4 yr old asked me when I was going to die. I went out and bought some patches that day. After 3 days I quit using them because they were unnecessary. I wasn't going to have another smoke, period. I guess my point is echoing Lynn-once you REALLY decide to do it, I think the actual methodology you use is not that important. Not to use a cliche, but it really is all in the attitude. And we're talking pack to a pack and a half a day for over 20 yrs for me. Another cliche--if I can do it....

Wish Ida known that all I had to do to get out of changing diapers was to gag a few times.

Dave, If it's working, stick with it (pun certainly intended). Like many alternative treatments, they work for some, not all. So the opinions tend to vary from "I couldn't believe it!" to "sucks!" with very little in between.
