reevesr1 Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 im not familiar with sea run cutts west coast or east and are they like steelhead living in the ocean and spawning up the rivers? Jared, I gotta give you some books to read brother. Haig-Brown talks about them lots (BC). The River Why referenced above (Oregon, if I remember) also talks about them. Great book by the way. They are so pretty! I'd love to fish for them sometime. Quote
monger Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Jared, they move up and down the rivers from the esturaries...they love baby salmonids. Quote
Keith Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 That's an awesome fish. Getting one of those has been on my list for a while. Quote
DougC Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Gorgeous fish man. I'm heading out to the Island in two days to hopefully get a few of those myself. Friday cant come soon enough! Thanks for sharing. Quote
Parry Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Any tips on how to catch any of these guys? my brother lives on the island and ive always wanted to get a sea run cutty, is it best to target them closer to the mouth of the river? or do you find them pretty far up? hooks to use, when to fish? or is there a good book or website that i could do a bit of research on. Not looking for any secrets just a general idea Thanks Dustin Quote
