Isn't the chenille version of the SJW the "original"?

 

Interesting list and some cool patterns there. Now what would be more interesting is a list of the top 25 flies that caught the most fish. I love seeing new ideas, but I've probably caught more fish on GRHEs, PTs, and Princes than every other nymph pattern combined. Have to admit that the CJ is definitely moving up the list as well though.

I believe it is, yes. I just personally think it's silly looking, and I prefer the wire wrap for the weight.

That beetle pattern is money. Its one of my go to late season flies. The foam on the back is so ripped and tattered there is almost nothing left. When i bought it I only got 1 and I am suprised I havent lost it yet. I tied up a few more a couple nights ago for when I loose the original
