  1. Thanks Wolfie! Seasons greetings to everyone here. Wishing you all good health, happiness and prosperity in the coming year!
  2. They certainly look like a decent pair of scissors. Having said that, there are other scissors of similar design already on the market. Keeping your scissors in hand while tying is a definite time saver though, no question.
  3. The New Flyfisher on WFN is another pretty good program.
  4. Ive got quite a few bucks invested in expensive hackle, so proper storage is definitely a consideration. When not in use, I keep mine inside a rubbermaid container. It keeps the pets out of them, and also helps to deter any bugs from taking up residence in the capes and saddles themselves.
  5. Very nice Wanny, may it provide you many years of enjoyment!
  6. Given the choice, my preference from the list you provided would be the G-loomis Streamdance GLX 10' 6wt.
  7. I really like that Muskrat fly you were using, it looks incredibly realistic on the water. Apparently the fish thought so too!? Great pictures GrnDrake, thanks for sharing them!
  8. Some terrific photos jksnijders, thanks for sharing them!
  9. Just curious if anyone here has used these? If so, were they effective for you??
  10. Im just curious to see if anyone has used this pattern? If so, what did you think of it? Was it effective??
  11. You are correct Nick..thats Del Canty alright. A fine fisherman, and a man ahead of his time. Was the article you are referring to in Outdoor Life magazine by chance? If so, it would be roughly 20 years ago, or perhaps a bit longer.
  12. Thanks for the reply, will see ya soon.
  13. Congratulations on a fine catch!

    Mexico

Whereabouts in Mexico where you Jeremie?
  15. Ive had similar experiences on several occasions. Years ago I even had a large bull trout try to steal a Grayling right off a stringer in some skinny water right close to shore. They are real predators to be certain. Heres an interesting pictorial of just such an encounter with a Bull Trout by Dave Lewis. A big fish story
  16. Looks mighty tasty to me Skyguy. Im guessing too that you likely find a few fish that will agree with me! Cheers!!
  17. That looks well made Pisces, I would imagine you've spent a few hours working on that project? Should look really nice once its stained and finished. Hope it gives you many years of pleasure!
  18. Whats not to love about Soft Hackles? Easy to tie and very effective on many species.
  19. Ive used Thomes, Bearlodge Anglers and Doc's fly box in the past, and would definately recommend any of them. I know Thomes utilizes Paypal, but Im not certain about the others.
  20. Nice little pile of Perch you've got there FlyFisherWoman. Got the makings for some fine eating.. bon appetit! Are the Perch in Sundance showing any signs of being thinned out at all?
  21. McRib and a shamrock shake...without a doubt! Back when I was still a kid, I was given a box containing well over a thousand of their coupons by a relative whose husband was a general manager at Mcdonalds at the time. Royale with Cheese, Big Macs and fries, shakes..all sorts of goodies, and all free. I would carry a big handful in my school pack, and many a trip to Rotten Ronnies for my friends and I were afforded as a result. Perhaps it was too much of a good? thing, but it did me in eating their burgers. I havent ate a Mcdonalds hamburger since 1985. I still go there on occasion, but their burgers are off the menu for me. LOL...watching "Supersize me" probably only helped to reaffirm my decision to abstain. And now that lovely photo of the McRib that Weedy1 posted. Mmmm Mmm! Bon Appetit everyone!
  22. I would highly recommend it to anyone also, particularly for the beginning tier. Loaded with great info.
  23. Hey Tungsten, You might want to check out Micheals. They have the best selection of markers(sharpie, prismacolor, etc) Ive managed to locate in Calgary. They also have quite a few other items of interest to the fly tier as well.
  24. Very nice Drew, I hope you'll post some more photos of your handy work once you get it all completely finished. Cheers!
