Weedy1 Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 How do I vote for the Best Functional Midge Pattern (Not Best Looking) when I haven't tested any? Everybody send me a half a dozen, I'll go out and test, then come back and vote. It's really the only fair way. Nice work everyone. Quote
Slyangler Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 If I may say so, that looks to be a fine collection of Midges. Very nicely done everyone! Quote
TerryH Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Man, this is going to be tough. I think I have to sleep on it and vote in the morning. Weedy, your half dozen are in the mail. Terry Quote
grannyknot Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Good call on this tie-off Dr.! I have so many new midge patterns to try out now. Quote
admin Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 GL all, lots of great looking flies here. A few I'll be needing to try. Quote
hydropsyche Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 How do I vote for the Best Functional Midge Pattern (Not Best Looking) when I haven't tested any? Exactly. I know a pretty, well tied fly when I see one. I know a functional fly when I've fished one. I've never fished any of these so I'll hold off on my vote until I read convincing stories from everyone why their pattern is the best. Hey, it doesn't have to be true. Just convincing. Quote
jcochrane Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 I agree, these are some interesting patterns. Thanks for the inspiration! Rock the Vote Quote
Lundvike Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 Not that it makes any differnece but I was going for fishable if I was going for pretty I would have spent an hour tying a dozen flies and scrutinizing all of them and not submitted the first one I tied. Quote
bulltrout Posted January 19, 2008 Author Posted January 19, 2008 guess my midge sucks the dog's hind teet on this one...like i said before, i hate losing...lol Quote
Tango Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 I can do pretty, they don't catch as well as the dull ones but look nice. Quote
ggp Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Well baring a miracle, and with only half an hour to go till nine...I think it's time to congratulate Don on his victory and Terry for second, and every one else for sharing such great patterns. Quote
