Kyle Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Interested in getting a bipod for my camera(Canon Powershot A640) ideally I'd like it to be extendable(about 12 inches to 3 feet???maybe, something like that) anybody know any stores in Calgary selling this kind of tripod? Thanks for any info! Quote
SilverDoctor Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Blacks should Got mine at London Drugs. although I use my wading staff now. Quote
bigalcal Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 I got a cheap, small tripod that extends to about 4ft at Walmart for $20. It comes in a small bag and easily fits in the back of a vest. It works great. Go to the Photo Dept at the front of the store. Quote
Kyle Posted November 27, 2007 Author Posted November 27, 2007 Thanks for the replies guys, one more question however...are the tripods one size fits all, or is it brand specific?? Thanks! Quote
ladystrange Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 mine was an optico or something like that, fits my panasonic and the pentax. i believe it depends on the base of your camera, should be universal thread size. i dont remember mine being marked. and it's in the truck. too cold to go outside and check Quote
WesG Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 I think the threads on the screw that screws into the bottom of the camera are all pretty universal. The quick release bracket from the tripod is usually specific to either that tripod of at least the brand of tripod. I bought mine at London Drugs. Quote

Threads can be unique but adapters can be purchased usually also. Robinson's should have it. I bought mine at Saneal. Quote
