mikeo2 Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Just learned my regular haunts for sharp tails on the north side of suffield are closed because of bovine tb. Now I'm scrambling to find a place to go for the last day of the season on the 31. I want to get one or two to mount. Haven't been out in a couple years for them do does anyone have any suggestions on areas to look? Quote
Smitty Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Did you try the AB Outdoorsmen forum? Just from a numbers perspective, there may be alot of knowledgeable hunters whose brains you can pick on that forum. Just a thought. Mike Quote
monger Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 They are up high on the grass ridges along the edges of the Porcupines living with the elk. There are a lot of grazing leases north, south and east of Brooks where they live. Also lots on the Milk River Ridge One in front of my dog 6 Quote
fishinglibin Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 When I was a Kid, young adult and pipelined around the Brooks area, the fields were full of all types of game birds. That was long ago. I am sure they are still there, but not in the same numbers. Deer and antelope everywhere too. Quote
FlyFishingEMT Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 I've seen them down around the Hutterite release site near Cypress Hills park. Quote
mikeo2 Posted October 27, 2016 Author Posted October 27, 2016 Thanks for the help. Normally hunt for them on the north side of CFB suffield. I have a couple spots around brooks to check out. If not I will head over east of the base along the sask border or even maybe down to manyberries country. Decisions...decisions.... Quote
