jpinkster
The Oldman Watershed Council was kind enough to offer me some space as a guest blogger. In my article, I talk about some of the challenges the eastern slopes face and how all user groups can contribute to the solution. Give it a read! http://oldmanwatershed.ca/blog-posts/2016/3/29/the-fish-that-got-away
cgyguy
Really well done Jordan! Nice blog. I was expecting something of a fish of a lifetime, but your experience provided good balance and wit. Very much enjoyed your perspective and totally agree with your views on the challenges of the eastern slopes. Hopefully awareness, some stiffer fines, awareness and pro active participation by all parties will not only prevent further decline, but more enhancement as time goes on. Let's hope! Once again, great article! Ralph

lad
I believe we need to also start regulating the number of anglers on the water if we really are interested in improving the fisheries.
Sage
well written Jordan and spot on! Perhaps forward a link to the Herald and Sun to see if they might pick it up ??
jpinkster
well written Jordan and spot on! Perhaps forward a link to the Herald and Sun to see if they might pick it up ?? The Sun doesn't care about environmental issues! I've run some content by Colette Derworiz at The Herald in the past. I'll flip this over to her and see what she thinks! BurningChrome
The Sun doesn't care about environmental issues! The Herald and the Sun both share the same writers now. The Sun has run a bunch of Colette's stories too: http://www.calgarysun.com/2016/03/20/soaring-alberta-poaching-numbers-prompt-warning-from-conservationists I can't believe I just defended the Sun in some way... It's actually pretty funny how they make the content different for each paper. All they really do is change the headline.
SanJuanWorm
I don't understand the term "fish that got away". It's never happened to me.
