RedBeard Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Check this out, Electro(fly)fishing! It's easy! You just need to charge up your rod, cast into a pool and the line will stun all the fish, then just stand downstream and net them all! JK of course, but apparently this is what happens when you stand under powerlines with a fly rod! Quote
monger Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 This is also what happens when a thunder storm is coming Quote
SilverDoctor Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Brother in law and I where on the Kettle river years back when a big boomer came through. We heard this loud clicking sound and then there where actual arches between his three upper guides. Needless to say he dropped his rod and we hightailed it to the trees and the storm hit. Those upper guides where discolored when we recovered the rod. Rather scarey. Quote
DonAndersen Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 And another good reason to fish organic rods. Note: that is ORGANIC not ORGASMIC Don Quote

SilverDoctor Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Yep at the time my Grass rod was fine, no sparks or noise. Quote
DonAndersen Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Red... A friend sold me the name Orgasmic Fly Rods but with the mind set of some people, using Orgasmic Rods would attract some real interesting folks. Don Quote
