Snouthunter Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Just curious what others think of islander reels.. Currently I have an ir3 and the lx3.6 and I'm unsure if I should keep the lx3.6 as I do use my sage reels and ultralight quite frequently. What are your thoughts? Quote
SilverDoctor Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Excellent reels, love em but reels are often personal preference. Love my IR2 for small water, worst mistake I ever made was selling my XL4 I really miss it, need to replace it someday. It really depends on what fits your style etc. Lots of good brands out there Sage included. Quote
Taco Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 They aren't everything for everybody but Islander IRs rock. I'm slowly converting my usin' reel lineup to Islander. I have the IR1, IR2 IR3 plus a mitt full of spare spools and am on the lookout for an IR4. Quote
ericlin0122 Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 i like my islander more than hardy. 1 Quote
Ricinus Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Islanders are just worthless.. I'll take them off your hands for $50 and save you the frustration. Mike 1 Quote
aaa Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 I sure like my IR's.....as ericlin0122 says, if I had to pick between my LRH Lightweight, and my IR2........the IR would probobly win the day.... Quote
Jayhad Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Rock solid, Canadian made, on the island where real fishing happens...... but to me they look and feel like my grandfather's reel..... maybe in another 20 years or so I'll start with them Quote
Taco Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Yeah I could see that clashin' with the flat caps and full beards... 2 Quote
