reevesr1 Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Wow!! Could you imagine that pig making a downstream run? Talk about running down the bank. Did you notice the quote: "I'm going to put it in my house, down in the basement, wherever my wife lets me.." Perfect! My wife would make me put it in the garage! Quote
toolman Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Yep. Sea run and caught on baited hardware. I saw the interview a couple of months back on the tube. Quote
esleech Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I'm sorry, but judging from the picture, I'd rather have a turd mounted on my wall....it's called ice, dude! The taxidermist will have to be good for that one for sure! Quote

The taxidermist will have to be good for that one for sure! I did not even notice the condition of the fish. Too funny. Do you think he will just mount it as is? Cheaper that way, if a bit smellier. toolman Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 The fisherman had tossed it in the freezer and it was frozen solid when he did the TV interview with CBC. It did not look very impressive, frozen like a giant fish stick. Quote
birchy Posted June 12, 2007 Author Posted June 12, 2007 Kind of cool to me that he caught it in the Mira River close to Marion Bridge. That's right where my uncle lives and about 15 minutes from where I used to live. Quote
Brownstone Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Impressive fish indeed, I would'nt say the biggest ever caught in NS like the paper did..but brute of a Broonie for sure..I bet there are lots of those bad boys in Mira River .. should be called Mira lake I think that's some big water... Quote
H2O Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Hey Birchy, Where exactly did you live? I grew up there as well, my dad lives just outside of Louisburg on Catalone Lake and owns the land adjacent to the river. My mom sent me the clipping from the C.B. Post, I went to school with Charlie's younger brother. Did you go to Riverview? Quote
126barnes Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Big Trout. But I would think bigger have been caught in NS, Sea runs have been taken in excess of 30 lbs from other Atlantic waters. Quote
