I've read a lot of people talking about the policeman area of the bow. I was wondering where is it.

Yes,it's a big secret fishing hole full of gullable rainbows and monster browns that you will hook into every other cast,if I told you I'd have to kill you.

 

East from Deerfoot on Dunbow Rd. 2.5-3km(?) to Bow River Bottom Rd,left down the hill,look for dozens of trucks and boat trailers at secret boat launch.

You should grab a calgary road map - tons of places to access the bow both in and out of city limits.

Not this year yet but I do fish in and around Cochrane most of the time. Lots of great streams near by and the Bow can be good at times in the Cochrane area. Not as good as the lower Bow but great to get out after work. Try where the Jumping Pound enters the Bow and upstream in the eve with a nice caddis hatch. Some nice fish to be had. Just get out and explore. Lots of hidden jems in and around Cochrane.

Just wait until after dinner and head down. Most of the swimmers have headed home plus they don't normally swim right at the mouth.

I like to head down there on rainy days. No crowds and more hatches.

Last year after the flood. The parking lot was wash out. Hope they have fix it.
