bigalcal
A friend's father passed away quite a few years ago and he has asked me to find a charitable group or organization that he could donate his late father's fly fishing gear to. I haven't seen the collection but from what he say's it is top end rods and reels and other gear. The gear will be older (10yrs+) but I'm sure it's in good shape. If you know of any deserving charities, let me know and I will pass the info on to him. Thanks.

bigbowtrout
Another option is to sell everything and then donate the funds.
ÜberFly
x 2 Depending on the type of gear (bamboo for example) it may not be appropriate to donate to an org like PHWs, but they and other orgs can always use cash!!.
jasonvilly
Contact Smitty from this board. He was looking for gear last year to run an afterschool program for his students. He is probably still looking for gear. J
Smitty
Appreciate the support BiggyJ, thanks for remembering!: I actually did pm MrBotangles. I don't run a charity per se, but you're right, I'm always looking for equipment. A big one right now for me would be youth sized waders and neoprene socks. But rods and reels are always in demand. Cheers, Smitty P.S. I'm sure Project Healing Waters would also be a worthy recipient of equipment...
1move
I am sure these Ladies would appreciate it a lot as it goes to an excellent cause and promotes women to get into the sport and equips less fortunate ladies to get out there. My girlfriend is part of the organization and from what I have seen it just seems like an awesome group and they could use the stuff. http://calgarywomenflyfishers.com/
murray
I know there is a group of women cancer survivors but for the life of me, I can't remember details. Maybe someone on the board can remember how to contact them. Murray
