so my birthday is coming up and the only thing really on my list is a fish finder. I would like to get the piranha 180. Is there a better bang for my buck? I would like to keep it in or under the $200 range. It will probably stay at the lake where we have an aluminum boat so size is not a problem.

not interested in the cast-able ones as the batteries die out in about a year or two.

Thanks

I believe there was a price range of under the $200 involved here. Both Humminbird and Lowrance have great units, I'm picking up a Lowrance Elite 7 in the spring for the boat but the price will be quite a bit more. I've always preferred Lawrance. Many are switching to tthe Hummingbirds to run thier iPilots and electric motors. I think it really depends on what your budget iand use is going to be. It also breaks down to what brand you like.
