graceinhim
About 2 years ago the city mandated that all construction/road projects include a 1% budget for beautification.
H2O
A couple of years ago a local artist was chosen and paid $40,000 for the trout painting. The trout themselves were done as part of the structure from the mold at Lafarge when the sections of wall were cast, my brother worked at Lafarge at the time. LynnF
No doubt it does pretty up the concrete, but I think they look more like salmon than trout. That's some expensive fish!
rusty
I'm with Dave - those are awesome. I love how they put browns on one side and RBs on the other.

Nick0Danger
And the fact the artist donated his time so, the cost is all materials,

ladystrange
i just noticed them the other day. at the time i thought the RB looked a bit like running sockeye but then i noticed the browns, which definately look like browns and figured the other side was RB. very pretty. and really shows off the fishing community and how important the fish and the bow are to the city
SteveM
We've got a brand schtinkin' new overpass here in my end o' town (McKnight & Metis Trail); no $3000 fishies on that one! That don't seem fair. Now, where did I put those cans of spray paint?
