ÜberFly
This past week Deb and I flew into Sorcerer Lodge for a week of ski touring (we "earned our turns")... Here are a few photos that may or may not do this trip and area justice... Enjoy! The only way in or out Our home for the week Our playground for the week Skier's heaven What to choose, where to go? Looking down off the Moraine Deb skiing down the Moraine What goes down must go up (I swear we each lost 20 lbs)... and up... (climbing up to The Perfect Glacier) and up... (boot packing up to the Nordic Glacier - you can see the lateral Moraine I've referred to in the background)) Deb and I boot packing and up... and up... (I want to give you an idea of how big this area is - White Russian Col in the background) and up... ( up to the White Russian Col) and down (what dreams are made of - lots of these types of photos) You'll notice that we stay left of the furthest right (guides) track - crevasses to the right of her track! Staying safe with snow analysis every day! Kellie, the guide is in the middle - I've known her for almost 20 years! Digging snow pits is a group effort Clear night doesn't necessarily mean clear morning! Still waiting to receive some of the photos of me from the other members of the group (sucks when you are the one with the camera! LoL) Peter

deeppowder
Pete, Looks sweet! I've come to appreciate freshies more and more. Especially earning them! First you get to make some fun powder turns, then you get to float it while it is melting and rolling out of the hills then you get to fish the rest of the year for strong healthy fish. Looks like the conditions were good. You couldn't get more on the helicopter? Jeff

Castuserraticus
Was there 20 years ago - one of the first years it operated and was still under construction - at about this same time. It's a beautiful spot. The gear sure has changed. We had free-heel light touring gear (still use it). On the second last night we had a huge dump. The next morning we woke to find the entire slope above the cabin had released into the valley - over the tracks we'd made the previous days. We skied the trees below the cabin that day.
