Smitty Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 So I was looking over some of the outfits I've put together for the kids...couple of the flylines don't look so hot, but I haven't flailed the water yet. If need to replace a flyline, does anyone have any experience with the Cabela's Prestige line or Cortland 333 lines? They're both around $30 - this is just in case I have replace some lines. Or if any other brand would do, please let me know! (Budget=about $35) Cheers, Smitty Quote
SilverDoctor Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Go for the Cortland 333, classic line. Quote
Flyfisher Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 You can't beat the SA (Scientific Angler) Headstart fly line. Great line for the money! Quote
EveretteD Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 I second the Copland 333. I used it for my first line. Decent for the price. Quote
CDone Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Hey Smitty, let me know what weights you might need and I'll see what I can come up with. Colin Quote
murray Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Mike, I'll check my lines too. Just let me know what weights. Murray Quote
Smitty Posted April 22, 2012 Author Posted April 22, 2012 Thanks for the replies everyone! The rods are 5/6 weights. Looks like the ice is coming off Summerside; I'll test each outfit, and see how good the line is. Cheers! Smitty Quote
angler Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Ya really can't go wrong with the 333 - used 'em for years. Quote
Ulmo Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 yup, cant beat the Cortland - casts as well as the expensive lines, really - peach baby! Quote
