Firstly, I have not seen a sculpin this large on the Oldman before,

Secondly, I thought the snake bit off more than he could chew.

cool photos, the only other place i have seen snakes hunting fish is at the Banff hot springs.

Yup, he ate the whole thing, but he was in a hole between rocks, and no picture available without disturbing him further

that is awesome!!! ive seen sculpin that big before on teh bow! they can get huge like 6"s or so!!! someone posted a photo waaaay back of a snake eating a little bow brown once! was pretty cool! ive say em hunging under water before but never with prey!! awesome stuff thanks for posting

That's a very cool series of shots right there. Pictures of wolves in the wild, sculpin eating snakes, bikini clad snowboarders - say what you will, FFC rocks! ;)

Very cool photos. That is one big, dirty sculpin.

 

I fished the San Juan last year and saw a snake put the hurt on a duck. The duck eventually got away, but it was the coolest thing that happened that day, save for the guide pissing in a 5gal bucket. In the boat. Just before lunch. He gave me a break on the rate because I paid cash and didn't need a receipt- something about the IRS killing the little man...

 

If anyone needs income tax/tailwater advice, I know a guy.
