The Yamaha and Honda speak for themself but are very expensive!!!!!!!! May still lean this way. Also, reading about Kipor. Any thoughts???? Tungsten Posted March 10, 2010 Share Posted March 10, 2010 Go to Blackfoot Motor sports they have Kipor and Honda's.You can start them both,the Kipor will start on the 5th pull the Honda on the first. Crowsnest Posted March 10, 2010 Share Posted March 10, 2010 I bought my used Honda 1000I on consignment at a Honda Shop. New ~$1000, but they wanted $700. I offered $ 650 and they took it. The kipor would be a third, forth choice, but they do make quiet invertors and not just industrial units. I would never take a loud unit out camping as I have more respect than that. A buddy of mine bought one at Walmart for $600, it's a 2000W inverter and it will run his A/C. Seems fairly quiet as well, comparable to my Yamaha. And it's small, easy to carry. The down side is you will have to go to Walmart but the plus side is you don't have to get any attitude at Blackfoot. Something to consider anyway. I'm not sure if Cabelas still carries the 2400, it's not on their website but all the other Yamaha models are. Cabelas might even ship them up here, I know they did in the past. Blackfoot's website has them listed at $1900, on sale for $1770, ouch. And I just use and adaptor for the 30 amp plug, it comes in handy when you're at campgrounds with only 15 amp service as well.
