NormanMcLean
Hello All, My buddy had all of his fly fishing gear ripped off from his truck over the Christmas holidays. He had a big bag with everything including 3 rods in it. He was new to the sport and I don't want him to give it up, because he really enjoyed himself on the water. I donated him my old 4wt, but he can't afford much more. If anyone has any old rods, reels, lines, flies, leaders, vests etc. you don't use it would be much appreciated. I can pick-up in Calgary or Edmonton. PM me if you would like. Thank you.

Tungsten
Can he not claim this on his insurance? If not car then home should cover it no?
murray
Last year a friend of mine had the same thing happen to him. His insurance replaced most,if not all of the stuff that was stolen. The hard part was simply rembering all of the items. Murray
126barnes
Had my kit stolen a couple season ago, home insurance covered it and then jacked my insurance so that I pay three times over what I claimed for.
headscan
Any chance of posting some of the major gear that was stolen like the rods and reels? A lot of people here are always checking Kijiji, eBay, etc. for gear and might spot the stolen stuff being sold.

NormanMcLean
Thanks for all the offers guys. Much appreciated. Hello maxwell, I might be at the Expo on Friday, I will be the 6'-8 guy with the olive Whistler FF hat. keep in touch. Hello Bigbowtrout, The vest would be great. Will you be at the Expo? Hello Tungsten, murray & 126Barnes, I believe Alden did not have any tenant insurance. Hello Uberfly & Headscan, Alden had a 4wt Scott with a Lamson reel, an older 5wt Orvis with an LL Bean reel, and a 6wt Sage Z-Axis (690) w/ a Loop reel. Tough loss. We will keep a look out thanks. Hello eatsleepfishrepeat, Alden had 1 box of dries (parachute & grizzly adams, caddis, some green & brown drakes, flying ants etc) and 1 box of nymphs (bead head pheasant tails, prince nymphs, San Juan worms etc). Thank you for the offer.
daxlarsen
hey i'll donate my old flyreel for my 5 wt. it's not the prettiest thing, it's the hobbs creek II reel from bass pro shops, from when i just started fly fishing. I personally have no complaints about the reel and i'de rather someone else use it then it collect dust.. it has line and backing and all that jazz on it so lemme know if you can make better use of it, i'm gonna make at least a cameo at the expo.
