monger Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Took my Dad's 1948 bamboo rod out today. This was the rod I learned to fish with back when I was a boy running the banks of the Highwood. Great fun casting some history... Next victim Quote

monger Posted February 18, 2010 Author Posted February 18, 2010 Sorry Wes...just a rod choice. I like my brain cells too much to play with hemp. Quote
ÜberFly Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Same but different... "Hemp" traditionally refers to the plant that is used for it's fibers to make rope, cloth, paper, etc. Cannabis sativa L. subsp. sativa var. sativa is the variety grown for industrial use in Europe, Canada, and elsewhere, while C. sativa subsp. indica generally has poor fiber quality and is primarily used for production of recreational and medicinal drugs. Sorry Wes...just a rod choice. I like my brain cells too much to play with hemp. Quote
Der Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 That is a dandy looking fish,2 fish I guess. What is the # of the rod,South Bend I think. Daryl Quote
monger Posted March 12, 2010 Author Posted March 12, 2010 Hey Der, the rod is nothing fancy. A young fellow growing up in Longview didn't have a pile of cash in the 40's. It is a Union Hardware rod. I was surprised how much power it still has though. It will see some more action in a couple of months. Quote
