My God I hope not - haven't got the newest issue yet but if it is something REALLY changed in the last three months or so... I don't think that you will get an objective opinion here because this forum is sponsered by Flyfusion. Although it is a good magazine, but lacks in geographic coverage and many other areas. For myself and many others on here Canadain fly fisher is a much better publication with articles writen from writers and photographers from all over this find country and many others with a very wide variety of different species and locals to try with concise instruction on everything from fly tying to casting from the best instructors in the country. But my favorite is still the drake for the short concise articles and amazing photography, after all it has won many awards and has a world wide following. Bigbrooktrout I see many posts for and against a few different mags on this thread so I find your above statement has zero merit and is unfair. As long as it’s all constructive and not destructive criticism then I think those who are sponsors or non sponsors will read this thread and learn from those they are targeting as customers. Just saying it sounds that way!!! CFF mag has and is all the problems that you mention of other mags.. and more, it lacks moral fiber, and has zero concern for any area that it hotspots or features.., glory hounds and takers is what it is made up of ... and when those faults are brought to the attention of their editors .. you will be shut down and basically told that you should read Fly Fusion ... and I got this from Nick Pujic ... He will not change his way of putting out the mag.. or the content.. becasue it sells his words not mine... So you get zero support for CFF from me.... I do like Fly Fusion but have a subscription to The Fly fisherman.. they may hot spot but not in the graphic detail as CFF and they have social and environmental conscious unlike CFF... This is my opinion and like A-Holes everybody has one..even if they stink.. So this may stink as you see it, but you opened the door... to the Sheit house... If this is correct about Pinning then you will not catch me doing it!!!! Not really sure what the hell I am say here but don't like the Centre Pinning thing if it is what it is... kipper Posted October 13, 2009 Share Posted October 13, 2009 My favourites are The Canadian Fly Fisher ( don't even know if it is still available ) and for tying I am partial to Fly Tyer - my main reason for these picks is for the Fly Patterns that they share with their readers and Fly Tyer has stories to go with the flys they showcase. Next to a video their fly tying instructions and illustrations are the best - bar none IMO - and as far as Canadian content I have had a lot of success using the patterns found in this mag. in Canadian waters.
