Am I missing something here, but didn't the guy just GET SKUNKED!!

All the way from NYC just to write about sewage plants and moose when he can drive up to Mantauk and hammer the striper "blitzes." Or Roscoe for all the name Catskill rivers.

Yeh, he likely can tell a fantastic fishery when he is in one. The bow is not (in my opinion) as pretty as allot the water we have around us but it's tough to beat for a trout fishery.
