  1. I have had several deep cycle batteries for my 55lb Minnkota, first bought a Bass Pro and it wasn't great, last season I got a costco deep cycle (biggest one you can get) and it's WAY better, half the price and has a warrentee! Definitely recommend the Costco Battery - single charge works for a camping weekend, if you use is sparingly... Note - don't bother with the solar panel, better off boosting off a truck or charging back at camp - which is what i had to do with Bass Pro batttery Hope this helps, EM
  2. do you guys ever preview the boats that will be for sale?
  3. I saw a couple of guys just north of the Fish Creek bridge 2 weeks ago, and one of them was throwing a soft plastic minnow swim bait. Couldn't tell if it was salted or scented, but is that what you're referring to as minnow tube?
  4. Hi Folks; Had a lot of fun fishing my home waters (Bow around Cochrane) last season, catching cutties, rainbow, hybrids, cutthroat and brook trout. I drifted Ghost reservoir into town several times with my raft but did not drift south of cochrane. A couple of questions - 1. Any plans for a legit boat launch below ghost reservoir? 2. Is there a launch (or access) around Bears Paw reservoir to take the boat out? Thanks,
  5. The dog is a silver lab, Finn. Would use the boat for Bow/Mo/Columbia/Elk and some lakes also (with a kicker), Sounds like maybe a drift is the way to go. Or perhaps a drift low profile as a compromise...
  6. pretty sure folks want to drift under the bridge because there's trout holding there . Although you could always launch below and paddle up - if there's not too many waders.
  7. Hi All; New to this forum but have read some great threads so far! Does anyone have any preference between a drift boat vs skiff ? Doing some research as i'm looking to upgrade my boat. Have mostly used a zodiac or NRS fishing rafts in the past, but want to upgrade so there's more room for my puppy to join now that she's getting bigger . Cheers, EM
  8. Good tip, I'll have to try that this weekend with the warmer weather around southern AB.
  9. Great vid, Definitely will need to tie a mouse on this summer!
  10. Question - What length of leader do you use with larger streamers. Typically used 18inches tied onto a sink tip in Montana, but haven't had as much success with this rig in the Bow... Thanks
  11. I usually 6lb tip with a 6lb fluo dropper. Don't typically use weights, but I may give it a try this summer to get deeper quicker. -EM
  12. Sounds fun! Haven't had much experience with city lakes, but would be interested in getting out there...and I have a small boat. Do any of the community lakes not require the person fishing be a resident (or a guest of a resident)? Thanks, EM
