  1. Why the Hype, thats easy, some of the most outspoken members have picked up the Spey and are excited about it, as they should be. This excitement is infectious, which is a good thing. Hell I know for a fact I will probably get a spey rod some day and draw upon others experience from this forum to help me learn how to become proficient with one. Its all good in my opinion. I see the advantages that Spey rods have in certain situations on big waters like the bow. Likewise I see the advantages one handers have in other situations. It's just another great way to experience fly fishing that requires a new set of skills and understanding. I wouldn't say its taking your fly fishing skills to the next level, but rather expanding your current skills to encompass other great fly fishing mechanisms and tactics.
  2. LOL. I have a hard time believing that most members here would not take Max seriously just because he's goofing around with the keyboard intentionally being a little sloppy. Fishhead take a chill pill.
  3. Most likely there should be open water near the outlet of the aeration from what I understand . Lets pray for an early spring, and hope the fish pull through.
  4. Awesome Glen! Keep the reports and pictures coming. Soooooooooooooooooo jealous!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Wow suprised to hear this Gordo. I have had nothing but spectacular fishing each time I visited the lake this year. Caught many around 16, and always a handful 18+ each time out. Biggest this year was a 24 which was fat as hell. What may I ask did you not like about this fishery?
  6. Any of you hear about the monster wind that blew a bunch of the Nakoda lodge's roof off last month? Suffered 800k worth of dammage. Here's a link. the story The bright side is the fish now have more structure to hide under from predatory birds!
  7. 2 years for me.
  8. Ill tie you up a half dozen Rickr.

  12. I'm running the exact same rig Brent aside from the sharkskin (buying that this spring) and would rather get rid of my wife than this combo. You will absolutely love it.
  13. Had to share this video of a crazy German kid who likes his unreal tournament just a little too much. Click here if the movie does not play.
  14. Canada has so much to be proud of. I believe our peacekeeping missions, and our past involvements in WWI and WWII are simply not acknowledged by many around the world simply because we don't talk about it much, and we have not fixated on them in our media, especially in the theaters and on television. Lets face it, most people's education these days comes from the TV. Some of this has to do with Canada not having a large presence in the movie industry, and a lot to do with how humble we are as a people. I say be proud that others do not know of the sacrifices that so many Canadians have given, and are giving . It says so much more than those who shout to the world "Look at what we have done!". As for our troops being in Afghanistan, Its an absolute disgrace and an tarnishes Canada's good reputation. It's a good thing to help out your neighbors when they are in the right, but its another when they are NOT especially when those in charge know it. Please don't take this the wrong way, I am deeply saddened by any Canadian soldiers death and my heart goes out to their family and friends. They are brave and noble persons who are simply doing their job.
  15. I thought I was the only one who thought Dog and his band of misfits were human garbage! Glad to see others can think for themselves instead of letting the TV do it for them.
  16. Ron Stonier WFN Economic Development ronstonier@telus.net I sent an email to this gentlemen in the spring. He replied promptly. I'm not sure if he is in charge of the lake...Ill email it again and get more info.
  17. I'm not one bit surprised to see olive is winning.
  18. I really love this lake... I would volunteer my own time to help manage it. I would even drive out there weekly to check/service the aerator if that is something that needs to be done.
  19. Sorry a little off topic buy can anyone confirm that Hector has their aerator running yet? I noticed beaver has 3 of them running for a couple weeks now so I figured Hector may get theirs running also.
  20. Simply magnificent! I love this fly. Thanks for sharing.
  21. I'm all for it if it improves our fisheries quality and/or numbers. In fact, I would pay much more to see this happen.
