  1. I'm trying bud.....even have a rock solid quit date picked out now.
  2. Dammit....I'm genuinely dissapointed that this is merely satirical spoof news....I want one of those buttons!!I love my Timmies and my guns and my blue blooded redneck MP/PM!!
  3. Haha Pete, better yet......maybe it's time more CDNS adopt an American gun attitude. Amend the Charter with a RIGHT to bear arms, and have the media stop playing to irrational fears and promoting the lefty liberal anti-gun agenda. Drunk driving kills and injures more CDNS every week then firearms do in a year.....let's ban cars! Hell, let's ban booze while were at it. Obesity and heart disease kills more CDNS EVERY DAY then firearms kill in 10 YEARS....let's ban forks and hamburgers, fries n gravy!!!
  4. Yes Don,they're all crooks....but the Cons are the ONLY party not vowing to take my guns away. I'm not a single issue voter, but that's an important one to me,especially so in these uncertain times when we may find ourselves in a SHTF scenario. I don't trust any government that doesn't trust it's citizens with firearms. .....and if Firearms legislation was a non-issue,I'd still vote blue.
  5. Really Don? Do you honestly expect me to read 66 pages of union propoganda, prepared by the very NDP friendly CAWU and walk away with an unbiased perspective?? ......did I mention I love my guns? BTW....Registration is the first step towards Confiscation.
  6. Well Clive,as posted previously,as a blue bleeding Conservative,I'm not at all impressed with the party's environmental record, and the Omnibus Bill did in fact gut and take the teeth out of the Fisheries Act,most notably, protection of habitat legislation, essentially paving the way for pipelines and resource extraction industries to operate under far less scrutiny and with far less regard for any aquatic habitats in question. A necessary evil to get Alberta oil flowing to 3 coasts perhaps....and while I'm not anti-pipeline per se......doesn't mean I agree with these blatantly obvious moves to appease big oil. I'm still a supporter of Conservative ideologies and all.....but they did set back freshwater habitat protection in Canada by 50 years at least, much to the disgust of many anglers, outdoors people, and environmentalists.I know of many salmon conservation activists back east that will not vote blue this time around based on that issue alone. Myself...well.....I like fish....but I love guns, lol.I also very much enjoy being gainfully employed with expendable income in my pocket within a strong Albertan economy, which is not on any priority list of the Libtards nor Dipshits.
  7. Worst PM according to who Don? Oh let me guess, the Libtard/commie/hippy attack ad coalition, lol. I've got to admit,I'm very dissapointed with the Cons environmental record, but the others will bankrupt the country, they're anti-oil,anti-Alberta,and just plain bad for bizness.Imho,Canada has prospered under this govt for the most part, including getting us thru the last recession in good shape. Its no fault of Harper's that the WORLD oil price has tanked.....and on national security/anti-terror measures and dealing with threats.....no brainer,Stevo is the only one with balls enuf to use the M word and call it like it is.......not to mention the Cons are the ONLY party not vowing to take my guns away.
  8. I've fished Atlantics below falls and rapids on several occasions. In fact,in NB at least, there's many named pools, private and leased pools, and crown reserve stretches well known for their falls and rapids, not a problem that I've ever heard of?Mind you, snagging and poaching can be an issue on some of them, but as long as your fishing legal,no worries...giver.
  9. Ditto.....did Police-McKinnons a few weeks ago @100m3/s and we were 11hrs(06:00-17:00) with a 1/2 dozen stops on banks and islands along the way.I would think 22x to McK is a pretty ambitious undertaking in this low flow water....figger on an additional 3hrs minimum for 1/2 doz stops and it's gonna be a longgggg day.
  10. I was having the same issue with a skid bitch a few weeks ago which had a foam head extending over the eye,so I stabbed a hole in the head for the tippet to pass thru and fixed it. If the pattern doesn't have an extended head, maybe try a half hitch behing the eye in such a way that the tippet leads upward, kind of a variation on the rifflin' hitch used by salmon/steelheaders....worth a try?
  11. "Officially" it opens @8am..... PM sent
  12. Nothing but good to say about Simms Freestones, into my 3rd season and they are like new aside from the Vibram lugs worn down....time to add cleats me thinks? On that note,I'd say Freestones are appropriately named....1st day ever in them was on Jumpingpound, crossing thigh deep fast water and the Vibram soles gave confidence and good grip when new. As the "low end" Simms model,I'd say they are THE most popular boot on the river, seems every 3rd angler I meet on the water is wearing them?
  13. Got mine at FishTales when I moved to CGY 4yrs ago, they probly have it? It's not the spot burning tell-all that some critics would have others believe, but it's a really good overview for a newcomer to AB for sure.Ive barely scratched the surface still,it would require a few summers at least of hardcore, full time fishing to fish the whole book me thinks?
  14. Big difference IMHO from parking on a dry gravel bar or launching a boat in a sensible manner,as opposed to actually driving thru the water for fun ,ripping a quad up a spawning creek,or just plain being an ***hat. Use your head....hopefully enforcement does also? I really don't think there's any need to be an Eco-zombie fanatic over it, but there's no excuse for joyriding in our rivers and creeks in this day and age.Im willing bet almost none of us on this forum knew any better only 10-20 years ago?The problem now is education, lack of signage and enforcement....people just don't know, and coming off as over zealous fun police doesn't help much at all. There needs to be a serious campaign to get the word out through public notice, signage, and regulation to make a difference, otherwise most people will just tell you to FO.
  15. Glad to hear that he's able to come home, obviously a good sign.As parents,it's always worrisome and a feeling of helplessness when our kids endure even the most common of childhood maladies like flu, chicken pox or whatever, and I can only imagine how terrifying it must be with such a serious condition as a brain injury.Best thoughts and wishes for a speedy and full recovery. As an aside ,my thoughts were with your lil fella yesterday while fishing a southern stream. My fishn partners and I were having a pretty good day on the water since 8am,but the action had slowed considerably by late afternoon. We met a guy coming downstream on his way out that offered a solid tip..."try a Big Foamy"..haha...he had been hammering trout all afternoon on same. Sooooo.....one of my partners swapped out his caddis for a BF,and first cast...WHAM!! Beauty 14" bow! I was a lil slower to heed the advice, jumped ahead to the next nice run,and worked it over with the EHC that had produced well earlier on in the day.....nada sniff. WTF....I tied on a BF,and in that very same run rose 3 fish, and stung a beauty of a 16-18"(?) bow that came unpinned almost immediately which would have been my best fish of the day if landed....but still... Big Foamys were the ticket.Lotsa hoppers clickn and chirpn on the windy, grassy banks,I'd say the fish must be keying in on the big juicy meals now. Anyhow....i thought of you,and I doubt I'll ever be able to fish a big foamy again without thinking of a little boy that I've never met.Very nice to hear that his condition has improved.
  16. Sorry to hear that Foamy.Best wishes to your lil' guy and family.
  17. Obviously he is NDP fun police.....if he were a Libtard he'd want to ban guns.
  18. Hmmmm...speaking of "fitting in" to CDN society....??I guess that only applies to immigrants?
  19. Not much choice but to drive on the beach if your trying to launch a boat at Glenmore....same goes for Police and Mac.Driving up the river like an a$$hole in your mall crawler SUV just to see how high into the air you can splash water is another matter entirely. But I spose wealthy citiots need to somehow justify having a snorkel on their Land Rover....I mean...ya never know,if you're on the wrong side of the river and it's 5 minutes til last call at Starbucks.....??
  20. Assuming that means there was minimal damage to hull,or limped downstream with duct tape bandaid??Good stuff, congrats.
  21. 22x launch Friday eve, broken glass count is up to 6 now,4 of those in the truck/ trailer stalls.
