  1. Never met the man but felt like I knew him after reading his book. I'm happy they're paying him respect like this.
  2. Help guys! I have an awesome 3 year old female Golden retriever. She's well trained and quite intelligent, at home that is. I can train her just about anything indoors but get her outside, namely around water and she gets way too excited she becomes completely disobedient and completely ignores me and my commands. I know goldens love the water but its a shame I cant take her fishing with me. She basically acts like a completely out of control animal. Even in my little motor boat she wont settle down and constantly wants to jump out. I'm not a dog trainer by any stretch and would appreciate any input any of you have. Hell id pay for proper training if I had to as i know id love to have her as a companion to come along on my fishing adventures with me. Please help guys!! Thanks in advance! Cheers
  3. I do 90 percent of the time!
  4. I was about to say the same thing....the fly section is pretty much unmanned yet they always have a person or two in their clearance section where they try to unload their discontinued crap. The Fly materials are sparse, disorganized, and overpriced. I wasn't impressed either.
  5. Hey you got your Brown! I think I spoke to you on the Bow a few nights ago. Congrats!
  6. Ya I've broken tons of em too!
  7. Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing.....chirnonie with a rubber tail or mid section or something. LOL
  8. I really appreciate the info folks! That said, let say I wanted to use a single SJW....shoould i put a float on it with split shot?....dead drift?...strip? I never had much luck on them in the river although Ive landed a few with SJW on lakes.
  9. Yes! A flyshop in the NW please!! It's direly needed unless I want to go to Bass Pro. Problem is they have an amazing selection of some stuff but pathetic in others (e.g. thread)
  10. Hey folks, Like many on here, I've fished the bow with some success in the past but I would hardly call my success consistent. The problem is I've never fished the bow this early in the year. What type of wet flies should I consider using? I went out yesterday without a bite after tying everything from a BWO to stimulator as well as SJW, hares ear and various other nymphs, wooly bugger. It could be early season rust with presentation but I really don't think that was the problem. That said, I saw a few guides using wet flies and floats....anyone have an educated guess on what they could have been using? Also will you get rises at dusk as you do later in the evening (dusk) on the bow this time of year? I'm sure a lot of Bow River questions get asked on here and I wasn't sure I wanted to sift through 500 posts to find the answer to my specific inquiry! Thanks in advance! Cheers
  11. I saw this on youtube and thought I'd share. I'm sure some of you have seen this or some variant of it but then thought there may be some here on here, like me, who have never seen it. I should mention, I use the same type of float and I find just letting some slack out on the loop and sliding it down your line works fine too but this seems to be a little quicker and easier Cheers
  12. I agree with Rickr, the last time I had this happen to me with cutties I started using small white and black flies ssize 20 and smaller.....white para chutes bwo's etc If they arent taking get as small as you can. If that doesnt work throw something out there that you wouldnt think they'd bite like a hopper or something stupid. This tactic ends up working for me more often than not. ***Sorry not a pro here....lol just thought id throw in my 2 cents*******
  13. Hey guys, I assume thats fish hunter 7 with you! I was just wondering what kind of fly you nailed that big bull on? If you dont mind me asking that is! thanks guys!! Cheers
  14. Id love to hear em too! Cheers
