  1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_islands :Hi jack:
  2. Terry I vaguely remember fishing with you as well. This is really not a secret spot (or spots) by any stretch of the imagination. I’ve followed or caught up to many others here and I have also cleaned up my share of bottles, line, fly’s and line from these spots. I’ve seen my share of boot prints and talked to some good folk a various parking places along this river. Just this last trip I ended up with 6 or so extra fly’s in my box and one was a nice big white streamer that was just left hanging from a tree. (Very easy to recover????) Further up at another pool someone lost the same style white streamer in a tree but this one is very hard to get at. (I’ll find a way to free it). The reasons I like this stretch of river. (Not in any order) • The Mountains • The Drive • The picky Cutts • The super cold water • The Bears • Moose and other animals • The couple of fallen logs I like to sit at. • Fishing with friends and getting them into there first Cutts or Bulls • Watching some really good anglers get schooled by the same picky Cutts • Getting schooled myself (12 fly changes to get one 13” Cutt LOL) I'm just glad I live where I live.
  3. I might have to Edit the title of this thread LOL but hey if the winner gets cake then let’s start the voting. It was a great day out for sure. The water is still a lot higher than normal for this time of year and it changed a few things but for the most part the fish were where they should be. I would say it was a 50/50 day dries vs. nymphs with a lot of the big Cutts being super picky. But with a few changes and some long drag less drifts they would come up. Just another case of quality of quantity but it was sure nice to get out to the hills before the season wraps up. Thanks again Steve. Now remove some of those pics of me!!!! Way too much BBT for one thread. Bigjonjon PM sent

  10. Thanks again Rickr and Uber for a great weekend. BBT
  11. Day three was all about fishing some new water and exploring a bit. We packed up and closed the condo and headed towards home but we veered off unto another logging road in search of Cutty heaven but found high off coloured water at every turn until we arrived at the river the Rickr and Uber found while searching the maps. This river was still a bit high and off colour but not as bad as the others we past so we geared up and went for it. We found some good holding water and later a real nice canyon section that produced a few small fish each but that was it!!!!! It just never heated up at all but we did see a lot of great water. Oh well this might need to be fished in Aug sometime. The beast The River The fish The filler
  12. Day 2 started the same as day one but the Back Country Rocket headed up a different road after the coffee shop and we ended up at a beautiful but a lot harder to access (lots of bushwhacking) river that almost beat me with its super slippery rocks. But wow this was well worth all the grief as the fishing finally after awhile turned on and rewarded us with a few nice fish.
  13. Uberfly and Myself had the pleasure of fishing some of BC’s finest streams with our Streamwatch donated trip hosted by Rickr. As you can tell by some other treads we had a “BLAST” and some crappy sandwiches but all I can say is WOW thanks again Rickr for offering up your time and your place for a great cause and to top it off the fishing was AWESOME!!!!!!!! Day one started off with a power breakfast of Jalapeño infused scrambled eggs and a quick stop at the local coffee shop before we headed up to the river. It didn’t look to promising to me looking out the window at some of the water we passed on the way up. It was mostly rapids, falls and crazy canyons and not something I had prepared for. Well after an hour and a half of white knuckle Texas style back road driving we stopped close to what I was told would be our first river of the weekend. I was pleasantly surprised when we made it through all the brush and trees to find a really nice pool and run filled gentle flowing cutty stream. A great start to the weekend The day ended with a bang and some BBQ steaks and chicken (maybe a beer or two)
  14. When you're driving two feet from a 500' + drop doing 90km on the gravel road I might be fine if it was anyone else. But being with a crazy Texan who on the main highway had a hard time staying on the right side of the yellow line I had a lot of doubts. (I still managed to grab a few Z's on the rides out) Peter "You never heard a "peep" outta me" I'm thinking it's cuz you where fearful for your life. Rick that was one AWESOME fire ball It was a great trip with tonnes of laughs and I'll get some pics up soon. Next year if this trip is up for grabs again, everyone should bid for it. We got it for a steal and Rick is a great host.
  15. Hello RickR, Wow what a funny story from a funny guy who was really out to kill us both. First it was the drive up to his secret rivers that I thought for sure was going to cut my life short, then it was the drier sheets. And since those two seemed to have failed he tried to blow us up by leaving the propane on the BBQ (Even with the curtains closed I could still see the LARGE fire ball) I'm going to hold off on any further comments until my Lawyer returns my calls and until Sundancefisher posts the links to the long term effects of drier sheets on the human body. Later
  16. I did my call of duty last year and took my Daughter to see the Jonas Sisters. Last night it was her Mom's turn. HAHAHA and from what I hear it was way worse last night then what I had to deal with.
